Did they state he called anyone else? SDS said the records stated he called the authorities as well in multiple occasions.

He called multiple players, including Bowles. It would only make sense to call anyone involved or with knowledge of the situation. How else should the coach gather the information needed to make informed decisions on the accused players?

Before you post something you really should make sure you know what you are talking about. There is a time lapse of 6 hours in between the calls and in between that there is a call to Bowles's father.

I am sure the Tennessean left out the part about 6 hours too! And like Butch said, he did talk to both him and his dad and is comfortable with that conversation.

Thank you. I was expecting the Tennessean to list what other parties CBJ had called, but I guess that was stupid of me.

As it turns out the judge was appointed by Clinton and is a Vandy Law grad.

In the past there has been much discussion concerning the definition and spelling of words and expressions I have used, so to try to avoid taking away from the importance of these developments I expained what I getting at. But this judge was appointee rather than elected, so sorry for the distraction.

what?

I am just shocked people don't understand the media! All they are doing is reporting facts!

Seriously, this is just another long list of examples the media does for their own sick agenda. It's not about reporting the truth, it's about creating conterversy to sell papers. The media today is totally disgusting and they do nothing but promote propaganda. So what, Jones called someone two times, this proves NOTHING. What it does is create speculation and destroys people's character. All I can say is I am fed up with this crap!!!!

In my opinion shows that they really have nothing new to report and maybe in their eyes is starting to lose some of the attention it had initially. Just my 2 cents.

They only listed what fit their agenda. You can find other articles that have more actual facts around who actually called whom and when. The Tennessean is not focused on that because it doesn't fit their agenda.

You mean plaintiffs? I haven't been keeping up with it much lately.

As for Naughright, being that she's in FL, it doesn't matter whether the trial is in Knoxville or Nashville. She 's not a plaintiff, is she?

No, Naughright wouldn't be one of the Jane Doe's. However, you would almost expect her to testify or attend at this point. Since we don't know who is involved, it's hard to definitively say there's not a real Nashville connection for the plaintiffs - other than their lawyer, but there certainly is a Knoxville connection to the case. Filing in a less convenient location is probably a common strategy used to disadvantage the other side.

Jimmy Franklin at Vandy called the rape victim 4 days after their "event" offering her a job to get "a group of hot girls together to help with recruiting" yet nothing much was said. And he got a promotion.

I don't care who Butch called or what he said. He's the football coach. I'm sick of this political correctness applying to some and not all.

So you expect him to decide to suspend players without understanding the situation or talking to them?

And you expect him to not be informed of the situation so that he can make a decision?

Maybe you expected him to read about in the newspaper first?

As the head coach he is the one that has to respond to the media about activities concerning his players. Talking to the necessary parties in order to do that is what I would expect.
You are 100% right, I can't believe we have a "Sub-system" in America that up-holds Guilty until Proven innocent, however; it must be pointed out, (according to the large number of experts on this board) CBJ has suspended Every player-without exception-that has had accusations made against them. CBJ isn't "investigating" and deciding who's guilty, in Every case the player is benched. He is in a weird situation, if he benched some and not others, then he is in fact deciding "guilt", but he has been fair and level in his dealings-accusations made-player benched-he doesn't wait until the end of the season etc., he steps up.

Bowles stated he called back and apologized; therefore even if he did call him a traitor, he then manned up and apologized; not that big of a deal.

And I'm not sure what you wrote.
More on topic: Plaintiff gon plaintiff. Bowles gon Bowles. Tennessean gon push an agenda.

Attorney Higher Vols

I was responding to a question about a previous post, about the judge that said the venue would be Nashville.

But you right about who is gonna be doing what.

Don't coaches have to be careful about tampering with witnesses and obstruction in a criminal case?

The information that came out today is routine stuff that comes out in the discovery process in a lawsuit. CBJ calling Johnson, Williams, Bowles, Hart, parents, and the police connects to the matter pending against Johnson and Williams, a criminal case that's going to trial this summer. If CBJ had tampered or obstructed in that case, you can bet your boots the Knox County DA would already have had that before the Knox County Grand Jury seeking an indictment against CBJ. That has not happened. So.....what does today's information mean? Nothing. CBJ said he called to lend support to his players and Drae Bowles' parents...nothing wrong with that. Calling the police asking for information....and talking to Dave Hart....nothing unusual there either. What came out today was no smoking gun. I believe CBJ.

Serious question and I am not sure you would know but if you or anyone else can answer I would appreciate it.

Has the Tennessean done anything to date that UT could sue them for slander for?

I'm sure the Tennessean will have a story about the phone records of the plaintiffs calling the accused on the night of the alleged incident. Wait for it.

There are about 20 comments that have been posted on Tennessean web site about the article and vast majority are anti Tennessean on a slanted and one sided article.
