Syria attack: Activists says dozens, including children, killed by gas

Please, isn't it time for you to get over your bad choice losing to the other bad choice?

My choice was annoying and unbearable to listen to. But she was competent and composed.

Trump is incompetent and unstable. And it's getting worse.

Sure, but you guys are acting like nobody risks everything for some small trifle.

Narcissists often do. Because they are impulsive and believe they are too good to be caught.

It's simple ****.

And again, you assume that Assad is one of those people based on nothing.

The defenses of Assad in here rest on the following:

1. Assad is not a narcissist.

2. Persons are, as a general rule, good at assessing consequences and their own long term self interest.

3. Persons are, as a general rule, good at behaving according to that assessment.

Right...

And the arguments against Assad are:
1 The Western media says he's a dictator
2. Western intelligence agencies say he's a dictator

I mean we can trust both of them, right?

He's not a significant threat to us NOW. You can't assume that doesn't change if left to his own devices. Do you think Germany was considered a big threat after losing WWI?

And on a larger scale, whatever benefits Russia, does not benefit us, unless you believe Putin is also just a misunderstood dictator.

You are still stuck in the Cold War era.Russia has no beef with us unless we provoke them. If anything, we should be friends, not enemies.

Serious question, I am certainly not the grammar nazi..I type so fast that i have errors everywhere. But..

Why do nearly half the posters here spell borders "boarders when talking about the dividing line between 2 places? Is it an autocorrect/ iPhone thing? An inside joke I dont know about maybe...I've been here for years but that's still possible. I get lazy spelling or typos, but it takes more effort to spell that wrong than right.

Weird. Speaking of weird...

"I" before "E" except when your foreign neighbor Keith receives eight counterfeit beige sleighs from feisty caffeinated weightlifters.

WEIRD.

"There Wasn't A Single Corpse": Russia Claims 'White Helmets' Staged Syria Chemical Attack

Russia claims that the reported chemical attack in Syria last Sunday was staged by the "white helmets," a US-funded NGO lauded by mainstream media for their humanitarian work, while long-suspected of performing less-than humanitarian deeds behind the curtain.

Speaking with EuroNews, Russia's ambassador to the EU, Vladimir Chizov, said "Russian military specialists have visited this region, walked on those streets, entered those houses, talked to local doctors and visited the only functioning hospital in Douma, including its basement where reportedly the mountains of corpses pile up. There was not a single corpse and even not a single person who came in for treatment after the attack."

Trump is incompetent and unstable. And it's getting worse.

And yet he still beat your “competent and composed” candidate. Even after she bought the primary and only had to win the National race. She literally bought the first 5 rounds of the NCAA’s and went to the finals. So how did Trump beat her?

The US and Russia both want to be world shapers. I don't trust our own leaders, so why would I trust Putin? Given the opportunity, Putin will take as much as he can.

Believing any government is benevolent is absurd. People in power plot to stay in power. If you don't see Russia as a threat, well, that's just foolish.

Ras, it is not beyond our government to lie. It is also not beyond the Russian government to lie. So honestly, I'm not sure where you're going here. Are you saying you believe Russia to be more truthful? If you have some kind of logic here, please explain it.

That is exactly what I'm saying.

I never claimed Russia was perfect and angelic... I'm just saying that I know that the US will sacrifice lives to achieve a gain, much like Stalin's USSR would do the same. As long as we have this group pf neo-cons running the country, I'm going to distrust them whenever they claim that so and so is enemy #1.

Plus, let me also say this... I do believe Russia is capable of lying... just right now, Putin appears to be lying at far less of a rate than we are.

Ask Vlad.

And, Amnesty International is a patsy of the US Government, right?

Ras, Pacer, Vol8188, et al,

Could you please provide a detailed account of your evidentiary standards and standards of proof for any happening in the world in which you are not actually there to see it with your own eyes and hear it with your own ears?

Remember, the account you give must be a general account, such as to apply to all happenings, and must be such that by this general account and these general standards, you are able to assert that you don't believe chemical weapons have been used in Syria (and, especially not by Assad or the Syrian forces), while this same account and these same standards allows you to give reasons for why you believe that certain other happenings actually happened.

Basically, your standards much be such that if you believe:

x happened
y did not happen

That these standards provide the verdict that

x most likely happened
y most likely did not happen

And, I want to thank all of you for this insightful discourse. I always end my intro to philosophy course with a couple of weeks on the philosophy of conspiracy theories, and now I have fresh material to share with my students.

I guess the better question is why would you assume he's irrational? Why do you think he thinks he can do whatever he wants? Historically, things haven't ended well for most dictators. Fidel is the exception to the rule.

He's not Hitler. He's fighting terrorists within his borders, not invading other countries and committing genocide against civilians.

Sednaya Prison. actually just google any Syrian prison for some horror stories, but Sednaya and who was released from there answers a lot of questions.

he created the terrorist threat, he is acting out against his own civilians, I don't think its to the point of genocide, but when half the population flees the country problems run deeper than a few crazy towel heads running around.
