Syria attack: Activists says dozens, including children, killed by gas

Well, if Washington's Blog is saying it, it must be true!

To be fair to Pacer's sources, the MSM for years extensively quoted the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights regarding this conflict... until it was discovered that organization was one guy renting a room above a pizza shop that had an ax to grind.

What do you mean by "extensively"? How many times? Was it exclusively relied upon? Or, were there many other sources?

And, who discovered this? RT.

I don't really follow the Syrian conflict much any more because I've been pretty busy over the last year, but my recollection is the organization was cited by pretty much every "legitimate" newspaper regarding civilian casualty numbers in Syria.

I don't know how to find how many times it was cited, so I can't help you there.

There were other human rights sources, but I don't know how that industry confirms their numbers. As I recall, it was difficult for most organizations to get good numbers due to the situation on the ground.

I don't really care who discovered it, I only care if it's true or is the guy credible. I don't believe he is.

It's always incredibly difficult to estimate casualty counts in war zones. Thus, most outlets will offer multiple sources in order to give a reputable and reliable ballpark number.

As for his credibility, he's been attacked by RT multiple times and most other attacks against his credibility are based in the RT reporting.

If I remember correctly, you have some connection to this field, so you probably know how it works better than I. My conclusion about this guys credibility is based on the fact that I don't think one individual, whose life's work is to highlight "atrocities" by Assad, can possibly be impartial.

Also, the guy's whole operation is designed to sound legitimate. If it was titled Rami's blog, it would probably have about as much credibility as you gave Washington's blog.

That is exactly what I'm saying.

I never claimed Russia was perfect and angelic... I'm just saying that I know that the US will sacrifice lives to achieve a gain, much like Stalin's USSR would do the same. As long as we have this group pf neo-cons running the country, I'm going to distrust them whenever they claim that so and so is enemy #1.

Plus, let me also say this... I do believe Russia is capable of lying... just right now, Putin appears to be lying at far less of a rate than we are.

Wow. So you don't believe Putin is willing to sacrifice lives to achieve a gain as well? At the very least, I would expect your distrust to be on the same level, not slanted against our country. I'm willing to assume that our leaders are at least trying to do what they believe is best for our country. Not saying it is what's best, just what they see as best. I don't claim to have close to enough information to actually have an opinion on that. But I also believe Putin is doing what he feels is best for Russia and his interests. I'm not sure if any of this has to do with "humanitarianism" so much as it has to do with global positioning. What I do know is Putin is a child of the Soviet Union, a former KGB officer, and someone who I believe has stated the dissolution of the USSR was a geopolitical disaster. The fact he has grabbed power at every chance, has fought to maintain that power, that makes me believe he will take as much as he can. We could absolutely sit back and let him take what he wants, unopposed, but in doing so, we allow an already powerful threat to grow even more powerful. I'm meandering a bit here, so forgive me, but nothing about Putin screams "good guy", so how you have trust in him just baffles me.

My choice was annoying and unbearable to listen to. But she was competent and composed.

Trump is incompetent and unstable. And it's getting worse.

Trump is an idiot, but he beat your idiot. Hillary was no more competent and composed than Trump is. Hell, I'm not sure I would call any politician truly competent. The point is, she lost. Get over it. At this point, all any of us can do is hope for better choices in the next election, but given the current crop of politicians, I highly doubt it.

I didn't say that, now did I? In fact, I didn't even mention Putin.

The fact is that Putin has technically already sacrificed several lives, but no where in the same ballpark as the Western sponsored mercenaries. When their commercial airliner was shot down over Egypt, their fighter plane shot down on the Syrian-Turkish border (allegedly) and their ambassador was gunned down in Turkey in the past 2 and a half years, he essentially sacrificed those lives and didn't follow up or respond to those atrocities because he probably felt that it was playing right into the other side's hand.

Or bc he was too busy jailing political rivals, poisoning people over seas, and making sure the terrorists from ***** riot were imprisoned
