Why didn’t you escalate to the next step of school playground protocol? Because it was called out before you could do it?

They are running scared because Erdogan has them by the balls. Basically, they are in enough trouble with refugees and resettlements of Middle Eastern and North African refugees with their home populations that his threat to introduce 3 million more has them gun shy at best. They can't afford nor do they want nine figures of additional mouths to feed coming into their nations. Such a threat has to be taken seriously.

Plus, with the exception of the UK, they could give a hootie darn about Syria and the civil war as long as it doesn't come to the home front. Oh, sure, they'll make speeches at the UN and give 20 second soundbites for TV. But actually condemning Turkey's actions and making a stand?

Nah. They're good.

The last thing our country needs is to get guilted/goaded into resettling any of these people or standing between factions in an ethnic conflict that has existed longer than we have been a nation.

Seems like Iraqi Sunni may be left out in the cold. Russia, Iran and Turkey solidified in Syria sounds prophetic. Hope they do not get frisky with Israel and wonder what the Saudis think.

Once we got a read on Erdogan they should have covertly and quickly been moved out. Like you said no reason to inform the Turks but it would be negligent of us to let them remain in country after his rise to power
