Wouldn't they have been better off had we not supported them against Saddam and just minded our own business?Gladly. We f*cked them in 1991 when they rose against Saddam and Bush Sr. left them hanging out to dry. Saddam used poison gas and killed thousands of men women and children.
Need more education dipsh*t?
Man, you really believe the propaganda. Those are not terrorists. They are mercenaries the west funds to destabilize regions that dont go along with the program. It's a global war on terrorism. I prefer they keep it on that side of the globe.
Only a fool thinks we can play defense and win this fight.

Your average terrorist group is state sponsored. Those states largely being the Saudis, Iranians, Pakistanis, Gulf States, Israel, Great Britain and the United States.
I’ve never gotten mad over this forum. Not one time that I can remember. If I was mad even half as often as you guys make the accusation, I just wouldn’t come back. There’s no point. It’s just politics. You're all kinds of cranky today. Not getting enough fiber?
Yes, it does have extreme validity in the conversation. Because the problem isn't limited to just northern Syria. Nor is it just "protecting" the Kurds there. You protect them there, you pretty much are saying "we have to protect them everywhere." Which, again, the entire Middle East save Israel will NOT accept.
You're missing that. Kurds are not just in Syria and Iraq. They are in Iran and Turkey as well. We can't just say "well, we're going to protect you here, but allow the Turks and Iranians to slaughter you in their home countries."
Yeah, I can disagree with Jim Mattis all day long. And anyone else who wants us in yet another endless occupation in yet another foreign nation that you can't tell friend from foe. We have no business in Syria. We stopped ISIS (helped stop them) and they are no longer a threat. There is still a civil war going on in Syria we have ZERO business picking sides in.
Now, if you want to educate yourself, why don't you do some research on where the Kurds get their weapons and that process. You think the US armed them?
Guess again. And then come talk to me about "turning our backs on our friends."
Nikki Haley... the voice of reason. (Sarcasm)
I looked it up after my previous post received no response from folks. It was freaking then Senator Joe Biden that proposed the three state solution back in 2006.I don't think there's an "urgent" need per se. However, I do think it should have been on the table considering how dirty they had been done at the Sykes-Picot Treaty.
"We're going to give you your own homeland...lol, j/k"
Let's face it, Iraq could have (probably should have) been divided into three zones all the way back then, much less now. A Sunni in the central part, Shi'a in the south and Kurdistan in the north. The problem comes from the other traditional Kurdistan areas being under Iranian, Syrian and Turkish control.
Oh, and those areas have resources on them. Which makes the idea a non-starter to begin with.
George Bush is a Nazi war criminal! Obama is a Nobel peace prize winner! How dare Donald Trump withdrawal US troops from the Middle East!
Cry more libs
This wasn't Trump's war or situation he created in the first place. This round of fighting in the Middle East since the Arab Spring falls squarely on the shoulders of Hillary Clinton's State Department during the Obama administration. Hillary got us involved in everything from Ukraine to Syria to Libya and has made a mess of everything that we touched.Truthfully, absolutely no one should be surprised that donny is, once again, abandoning an ally. Anyone not named Trump (except Tiffany) is subject to being discarded at his whim - as evidenced by the last three years, no one is immune to being used for political expediency.
All that turned out great. That’s why we need to be there for eternityThis wasn't Trump's war or situation he created in the first place. The middle east? You really don't understand what's happening do you?
