Tajh Boyd

Haha I WISH!! I was just stating that slow 40 times does not always mean you cannot scramble. I will take someone that runs a 7 sec 40 after seeing the amazing scrambling abilities of Eric Ainge and Casey Clausen.

That's the truth. Really not that it bothers me or something I was just curious really about his 40 time.

Either way with what we have, we need Boyd in a big way.

I'm no talent evaluator, but I have to disagree with you. His videos have impressed me quite a bit. He doesn't have Michael Vick speed, he's not going to break any 70 yard runs. However, he doe have the ability to move around in the pocket and pick up first downs on the run. He doesn't have a Mathew Stafford cannon arm, but he is deathly accurate. He completed just under 70% of his passes last year as a junior, thats very impressive. I had terrible QB mechanics, thats why I was always a backup(defense was my calling) but his footwork looks good for a HS QB.

Remember this is him as a JR.

No offense to his talent or what he deserves but that video does not make him look that great. He doesn't look that fast nor does it look like he has a strong arm. I know videos are bad for showing talent and I'm sure I'm wrong.

He's very accurate and can move around well in the pocket. He has a good arm IMO.

EDIT: Pretty much exactly what chavisut said

what might hurt us is that he wont be playing for at least 2 years. stephens will be the qb and he'll have to wait behind him

"I like Tennessee a lot," Boyd said. "When I committed to West Virginia, I never got Tennessee out of the back of my mind. I never closed the door on them. I liked my first trip down there a lot. I have a good relationship with coach (Latrell) Scott and with coach (Dave) Clawson. Brent (Vinson) and I are close. We talk every week and he has nothing but good things to say about being there."

what makes u think that stephens isnt gonna develop into the qb we need. he has already made progress in the spot. we will see this weekend how he will do against major sec play.

For starters he couldn't beat out Crompton.

Boyd looks great !
the offense his high school runs is similar to what UT runs...

and he does look very accurate.. and the fact that he can make plays with his feet is awesome..

we need this stud !

a winner will not back away from competition, Boyd seems to be a winner...the qb job is as far away from being locked up as Obama is from being a capitalist

Nole Notes

ESPNU150 athlete Logan Thomas (Lynchburg, Va./Brookville) will be in Tallahassee this coming weekend for the Seminoles home contest against Virginia Tech. Also on campus will be Auburn tight end commit Phillip Lutzenkirchen (Marietta, Ga.) Lassiter, whom the Noles continue to recruit as well.
Florida State also has started to recruit quarterback/athlete Taj Boyd (Hampton, Va./Phoebus). Boyd de-committed from West Virginia earlier this year.

FSU is in panic mode it seems.. there going crazy on the recruiting scene.. which isnt a bad thing.. but it seems like they've offered EVERYBODY !! lol

as long as they dont get Boyd from us, i'm fine..

For starters, Stephens & Coleman were never given a fair shot i believe. Look how Stephens has played so far. How Fulmer & Co thought that Crompton was our best QB is beyond me. Typical Fulmer favoring the upperclassmen. That's the only reason Foster is still starting.

Hold up...

Stephens has been an upgrade, and has performed adequately, in a Ricky Clausen kind of way. To say that we're willing to put the future of the program on his back is a little too much, at this point. He reminds me of A. Kelly. He's got a head on his shoulders and good heart, but I don't think I'd commit to his future the way Meyer commited to Tebow and Richt commited to Stafford's. This Boyd kid though, seems to be the total package. BJ... is on his way to Duke, likely. It's probably best, as he will be a better fit there.

If this Boyd kid is as good as advertised

I got a really good feeling on this kid. if we are close this weekend, i think we get him. I really like the part that he has a Tenn NC poster in his room. that has to be very good for us. I really like our chances. has anyone heard anythink new on him? and there is a article up on rivals on him, can someone summerize it for me plz?
