guys hes going against vanilla defenses and no blitzing at all, these kids have had 1 week hes just throwing it up and the WRs are going to get it, as open as Brown was anyone on this board could have hit him for those TDs

Oh yeah, but he was still good enough to break the record for passing yards, which no one else seems to have been able to do.

Sorry but I just dont get excited over easy passes and wide open receivers as much as some apparently. I am not saying hes terrible but nothing he did today impressed me, Pat Patterson, Reuben Randle and Bryce Brown impressed me. But a QB throwing it up against a vanilla zone defense is not exactly making me upset Kiffin passed on him.

We probably should move on here. Bottom line, Kiffin felt he wouldn't fit the sysrem he's installing. I would've have loved to see Boyd say "OK coach, I want to play in the pros as a QB. I'm going to come to UT and I want you to make me a pro QB. I'm willing to do whatever it takes." He didn't do that, so he wont be here.

Seriously, how many pro teams are running the 'spread'? QB's coming out of schools that run the spread are going to be behind QB's that have been running pro style offenses in college.

I didn't see everything he did and I'm not arguing his ability. He's big and has a boatload of talent. I think we're just going to have to trust Kiffin on this one. What I don't like is the way his 'not coming to UT' is being portrayed. The announcer during the game made it sound like Kiffin just dumped him. From what I understand that's not the way it happened. If what I've heard is true Kiffin handled it in about the most professional way possible and in the best interests of the kid.

I watched the game (and watched the high-lights again) and Boyd looked like he is going to be a great college qb. The only thing I would want more for the Vols than Boyd, would be Boyd and Bryce Brown in orange.

He represented the Penisula District, the Eastern Region, the Virginia High School League ,and the State of VA well! Hat's off young man keep up the good work and go after your dreams and no one elses!! In case you didn't know it your stock just rose a lil bit higher!! Take your time and chose your school for you and no one else!! It was a good move not to choose a school today!! More schools will come a knocking tomorrow!! Read and weep Lane Kiffen it's Tennessee's Loss!!!

According to scout, CLK called Tajh Boyd's HS coach after seeing him in the All-American game this weekend. Tajh says, “I don’t want to bad mouth any program, but I think coach Kiffin should have waited to see me play before saying I didn’t fit his system."......Thoughts?

If we really believe that Kiffin changed his mind based upon these All Star game performances, then we have badly overestimated the quality of our new football coach.

I certainly hope this is not true. The article said Kiffin may have called his coach. If true, Kiffin jumped the gun a little bit.

this is a kid basking in the glow of a good performance....the call never happenned, Boyd is just giving a reporter a story to write to make him seem more wanted

Who cares. This kid will be a good player but not a game changer. If we are going by All-Star games then Trent Richardson is a terrible RB. I don't take to much from this.
