Tajh Boyd

That seems like a good choice for Boyd. He should do well at OSU.

He reminded me of Pryor and Tressel has done a great job with Pryor, imo. Maybe someday he'll be thankful that Kiffin's honest feedback on his fit with UT's system was best for all concerned.

I still can't believe we won't be able to use Boyd in our system... This has to be CLK's only mistake thusfar...

I will third that! When you have a QB that can pass and run a little and not fit your system... plus he is just a winner... just dont get it... Let Boyd and Petty go and now we are stuck with Crompton, Coleman, Stephens. lol Kiffin has his work cut out for him!! Ohio St. will be a good fit for Tajh if that is where he ends up and hopefully things will work out for him. We will see what happnes in the spring for our QB's.

how is it a mistake? Kiffin knows more about him than you and anybody else that posts on this board.

I think it can be looked at two ways a) other recruits and coaches recognize it was the right thing to do and it builds trust b) other recruits are swayed by Tajh to follow him somewhere else.

I don't think Tajh right now is telling other recruits that UT did the right thing and they should still consider UT because the coach is honest. No, he's probably telling them to attend whatever school he's going to - think Marlon Brown. He's not looking to better UT he's looking to better his chances of succeeding somewhere else.

That sounds right. Tajh will try to convince other top recruits to follow him. He wants to throw to awesome receivers. I don't blame him.

Let me say this so it's clear on WHY we did what we did....

Even though Boyd is a good prospect, Kiffin has a direction and he will go that direction without even blinking. Boyd's scholly did not get pulled, but he was informed that he wouldn't be the fit Kiffin wanted but he was still welcome to try. Now, if Boyd wasn't right for Kiffin's system it would not only hurt us it would hurt Boyd. There's NO reason for us to use a scholly on a player that may or may not pan out at the MOST important skill position we need right now. We have enough QB's right now to try and salvage one of them. There is no reason to have 4 QB's going into next year.

I do not know if you watch the same football team this year as I did, but our Qb's were awful. 10 yard pass hits a receiver in the feet... etc...I mean our Qb's were bad and there is no way to be excited about our Qb position if we do not sign a top notch qb.

And Kiffin is looking to succeed at UT. And why would we want someone who decides his college future based on where his high school buddy tells him to go? Not the kind of player I would want.

surprise to me that his high school buddy told him where to go to college??!?? not too sure where you got that from, but doesnt really matter. We need a Qb or we are in trouble!

Yea...Boyd did great in High School, so that means he will be great in college.

That worked wonders for J. Crompton!

Kiffin knows more about football than any of us. Lets see what happens.

For the person that said Boyd redshirts next year and starts when Pryor goes to the NFL.......Pryor needs TONS!! of mechanical work before he ever sees a NFL field. He is a good college qb, but the NFL??? Please.

"Michael Brewster was my host," Boyd said. "I know that he was a really highly touted recruit coming out of high school. We developed a friendship over the two days and he is just a cool person in general. He told me that I can be his quarterback and was joking and stuff like that."

Boyd also had a chance to spend time with Lamaar Thomas, DeVier Posey and fellow quarterback Terrelle Pryor.

"(Pryor and I) did get along well," Boyd said. "I thought that he was going to be a little bit cocky or something but he was really down to earth. All of the players were because I think those are the kind of people that Jim Tressel has coached them to be. I feel like I am going to have a shot to come in and compete but at the same time I can learn."

I'm on my phone, so it's not as easy to switch to another tab to browse, or I would have researched this myself- when does the UT/Ohio State series begin? It's after Boyd would have graduated, correct?
