The article says it was an 11.5% decline from 2016 to 2018. That projects to a 22% reduction over 4 years, which is a huge number.

See most of the Southern Hemisphere except what was settled by the Europeans.

Even the countries kicked off by some Europeans in S America are pretty spotty. The countries in the southern hemisphere sponsored by Spain are full of corruption and graft and never developed like most that the northern Europeans started elsewhere. I think that may have had more to do with the colonizers than the original inhabitants.

I will say that last week prior to this whole deal in Afghanistan , I actually had a conversation with my Dad who was an Airborne officer at Fort Bragg and I told him that for the first time in my lifetime I had doubts about the higher up leadership in our military. There have been times where I’ve questioned if we’ve had the right leaders making the right decisions, but I have never doubted the Brass having their eye on the ball. I can’t say that right now .

A decline in how deportations are counted does not mean he supports legal immigration. New policies that restrict legal immigration that are followed by a decline in legal immigration do mean that his actions do not support legal immigration.

I did the math for you. Your math is wack and 5% a year is approx. 50k people the 1st year, 100k the 2nd year, 150k the 3rd year, and 200k the 4th year. It's a lot.
