The American people don't have any choice at this point. It would be nice if conservatives had options for alternative leader and the democrats could have both he and Kamala to themselves but it doesn't work that way. If Biden can't make it then the current alternative is more of a trainwreck.
I think that's why they're propping up dementia Joe. Even the people behind the curtain don't want chameleon Harris. I seriously don't think he makes it another 6 months.

This is what worries me the most. The Taliban have been pretty chill with Americans to this point despite some reports to the contrary. But how long before that patience wears thin?

And if they decide to change their stance on not harassing us since we're taking our sweet ass time leaving, this could turn out worse than Dien Bien Phu.
I think the Taliban is aware that it would be bad for business in the near future to let this thing get too far out of hand. The Chinese and Russians will not want to them to stir the pot anymore, either.

Like the Taliban said before, Americans have all the clocks, but they have all the time. I think we may be surprised at how patient the Taliban will be during this process.

I hope he makes it full term then we get a conservative back in office to try to repair as much of America that is left.

The Chinese and the Russians could care less if they stir the pot. Why would they? Who do they have to fear? NATO? That is laughable. The US and other World powers aren’t going to punish them economically either. Just like the Taliban is going to crack down on Opium production 😂

Maybe YOU don't know what it means? When one acts or believes oneself to be morally superior to others. That is most definitely you... you prove it quite frequently. Criticism you give, Criticism you can't take.

There you go. Now go back and read my post and tell me where I was acting morally superior. I LITERALLY said I didn't care about those people, that would be the opposite of what anyone would consider moral high ground.

A little critical thought would serve you well.

The Taliban has murdered thousands of people but is unwilling to break an agreement it made with the Biden administration to not harm any Americans? Sure thing, that sounds legit. There is no way to prove your picture was taken today or three years ago. The media which leans heavily to the left is making up false stories to paint Biden in a negative light? Sounds legit
I don't think it has anything to do with an agreement with the US at this point. Russia and China don't want this thing getting out of hand just as much as anyone. The Taliban has incentive to at least keep things as close to civil as can be possible given the circumstances.

You are getting way ahead of yourself. 2022 midterms....

If those elections don't go they way their supposed to, then you can't count on the vote ever being trusted in this country again.

Getting out of hand? How else would you describe what is taking place? You can’t seriously believe that the Taliban hasn’t already committed/is committing acts of retaliation? Given what circumstances? You mean the circumstances they were scheming for since 2001? The Taliban has been waiting for this day since 9/11 and wanted the US to invade for their final showdown with the “Great Satan”.

The Taliban was just sanctioned by Janet Yellen earlier this week, so they have money locked up right now. They have that immediate incentive to let this carry on as best as can possibly be done. On the long term, this isn't (necessarily) about NATO at this point, but those fringe countries that are allied with The West, but could yet benefit from the Chinese Belt and Road Initiative. I say "necessarily" because I think you may have some NATO members (Germany, Turkey, Italy, France) that might directly benefit in the future, also.

Ok. Superior without the moral aspect. So arrogant smugness with a I'm better than you attitude...feel better. Critical thought..... really? You?

I think you have just exposed the hypocrisy of progressivism. Human rights is a politically expedient issue.

Believing that this withdrawal was botched in a way that put human life at the most risk, is separate from believing it was time for the US to withdraw. It also doesn't mean it is a good idea to bring thousands of Afghans to US soil as we are dealing with a southern border crisis.

Progressives love to conflate issues to create disjointed ideas when you tell them your concerned about the withdrawal but you don't think bringing over thousands of Afghans is a good idea.

They redirect from the ideological failures to make the least common denominator arguments that ultimately lead to race.

I'm saying that the Americans will be allowed to evacuate. I can't speak for the Afghanis that may have been helping.

Lord help us all, sanctioned by Janet Yellen? In that case, everything is under control. No doubt sanctions control the illegal drug trades 😂 Having trouble believing you actually typed that

NATO is utterly useless

U.S. Embassy tells Americans NOT to go to Kabul airport due to 'security threats from ISIS': Warning comes as Pentagon again contradicts Biden's claim there's 'no indication' the Taliban is stopping citizens

  • The U.S. Embassy told Americans on Saturday not to go to Kabul airport because of 'security threats' outside its gates - reportedly coming from ISIS
The U.S. Embassy issued a stern warning to Americans on Saturday not to go to Kabul airport because of 'security threats' outside its gates - reportedly coming from ISIS - a day after President Joe Biden vowed to bring citizens and Afghan allies home.

U.S. officials said the most serious threat to the airport is Afghanistan’s branch of the Islamic State, which would hurt Americans in the country and challenge the Taliban's control, The New York Times and Associated Press reported.

'Because of potential security threats outside the gates at the Kabul airport, we are advising U.S. citizens to avoid traveling to the airport and to avoid airport gates at this time unless you receive individual instructions from a U.S. government representative to do so,' the Embassy warning says.
