The Taliban was just sanctioned by Janet Yellen earlier this week, so they have money locked up right now. They have that immediate incentive to let this carry on as best as can possibly be done. On the long term, this isn't (necessarily) about NATO at this point, but those fringe countries that are allied with The West, but could yet benefit from the Chinese Belt and Road Initiative. I say "necessarily" because I think you may have some NATO members (Germany, Turkey, Italy, France) that might directly benefit in the future, also.
