Some Afghan refugee children are arriving in the U.S. without family members

Some refugee children who have been evacuated from Afghanistan following the Taliban takeover are arriving on American soil without family members, prompting U.S. authorities to send them to government shelters, Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) officials told CBS News.

Since the Biden administration started airlifting at-risk Afghans from Kabul earlier this summer, U.S. immigration authorities have designated at least 34 Afghan children as unaccompanied minors, sending some of them to HHS-overseen shelters for undocumented migrant youth.

Again ..... no real planning done on the part of Biden's Administration on this.

An analyst just said Biden was trying to do that Clint Eastwood quint reading the teleprompter.

Then the other one commented he put his head in his hands then tried to come with that George W. Bush tough talk without the credibility.
I'm not familiar with either of those references. I gotta youtube it to get an idea of WTF he was trying to do.

What I desperately want to know is what is the vegetable’s CoS Ron Klain thinking. I know I always feel better and assured after seeing his tweets.

I hear the Germans are pretty good at efficiently moving large numbers of people via train.

Where is Jen Psaki pulling this 100k number from?

Is she including all Nations and military to get to this number?

She seems off by about 90k if it’s just us and non military.

Yes. They are padding their numbers with the evacuation by all countries and claiming “oversight” of the operation. It’s comical and transparent that they are lying.

I never thought a president could convince me that we should maintain at least a small US military presence in Afghanistan for the safety of our country. But this one has. I believe now we should have a viable force remaining there in hopes of offsetting the incompetence of the current and possibly future presidents. Thanks, Joe.

'Biden turned his back on my son': Father of Marine killed in Kabul ISIS suicide bomb BLAMES President for deaths of 13 US troops and 170 others. Pentagon warns President that ANOTHER attack is likely

  • Max Soviak, Rylee McCollum, David Lee Espinoza and Kareem Nikoui were all killed in Thursday's blast
The father of one of the Marines killed in the bomb attack on Kabul airport yesterday is blaming Biden for it, saying he turned his back on the troops on the ground with his chaotic evacuation attempt that made them sitting ducks for ISIS-K.

Kareem's outraged father Steve told The Daily Beast on Friday: 'They sent my son over there as a paper pusher and then had the Taliban outside providing security. I blame my own military leaders… Biden turned his back on him. That’s it.'

Two Britons and the child of another British national were killed by an ISIS suicide bomber outside the airport in Kabul as they tried to flee the Taliban on Thursday, the Foreign Office confirmed today.

But Defence Secretary Ben Wallace admitted earlier that up to 1,100 eligible Afghans and another 150 Britons will be left behind. Mr Wallace said that the last UK flights would leave within hours.

Tom Tugendhat, the chair of the Foreign Affairs committee, said this filled him with 'anger and shame' and warned 'we may find ourselves with the biggest hostage crisis the UK has ever seen.'

Ocasio-Cortez: Trump’s Xenophobic, Racist Immigration Policies Played Role in Afghanistan Chaos

Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) said Thursday on MSNBC’s “The ReidOut” that former President Donald Trump’s “extremely xenophobic and racist immigration policies” played a role in the current Afghanistan withdrawal chaos.

Anchor Joy Reid said, “We used to have an annual ceiling of 231,000 people under Ronald Reagan. No moderate figure there. George W. Bush 70,000. Under President Obama, it was 85,000. Under Trump 15,000. We have had former members of the administration come forward and talk about Stephen Miller, eventual essentially waging rhetorical war against the idea of Afghans coming here. We have seen people on another network call them invaders…So there is another side of this. There is another side that doesn’t want any of them here. So do you think that the politics around bringing more people in are going to be challenged by that xenophobic attitude we are seeing play out?”

Two Afghan nationals who were deported after being convicted of crimes are now back in Sweden after boarding evacuation flights from Kabul.

The two men were immediately arrested at Arlanda airport in Stockholm upon entry back into the country for violating their travel ban that was issued after they had served the sentences for the crimes they had committed.

I read an article the other day about how a California high school class and many of their parents were trapped in Afghanistan now after going there on a class trip. They couldn’t reach the airport because of the Taliban blocking the way. Has anyone seen anything more about that?

I can’t imagine why they would have traveled there. Why would someone, as a parent or teacher, take their child or students to a country in such turmoil? I hope they all get home safely soon.
