When you've chosen a career that mandates you do what less than .01% of the Earth's population can do, you hone your will and resolve that you will succeed under the most extreme circumstances. Failure isn't an option because that means you or your brothers in arms die, they prepare and will themselves to succeed in everything they do.That has been my experience around these guys. It’s not arrogance, it’s a sense of supreme confidence and they really believe there is nothing they can’t do, and will die trying if necessary.
So all 5 of the guys we traded for Bergdahl are in the new government - one is a governor of a province and the others are in the national government.
We traded them to get one guy out yet are leaving 100s behind now.
Makes no damn sense.
one of them has a "questionable track record" according to xiden's idiot sycophant blinkenSo all 5 of the guys we traded for Bergdahl are in the new government - one is a governor of a province and the others are in the national government.

Can this admin make the USA look any more pussified than it already has? Damn….
There was a George Floyd mural in Kabul? Talk about cultural imperialism.

I don't get mad about much but I'm quite worked up about not only our leaving our people behind but also the lack of any passion/urgency from Biden or Blinken or anyone about getting them out and the outright acting like this whole thing was a roaring success with just a normal hiccup here or there. Hell, Pelosi today was congratulating the admin about the great job they did getting people out while admitting things were a little "hazy" at first (whatever the f that means).
It really pisses me off and I can't believe no one in the administration and much of the media seem to give a ****.
The Taliban's acting foreign minister, Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaki, thanked Qatari special envoy Mutlaq Al-Qahtani for his country's efforts in restarting flights out of Kabul International Airport, the Taliban said in a statement posted on an official account.
An engineer on the Qatari team told a news conference Thursday that the airport was now 90% fixed. "There are some technical issues that we cannot fix, but in total all the equipment is working," said Mohamed Naeemi, speaking alongside Al-Qahtani.
US Secretary of State Antony Blinken on Wednesday blamed the grounding of charter flights in Mazar-i-Sharif, northern Afghanistan, on the Taliban, saying that the militant group was not allowing them to leave.
The Taliban claimed "that some of the passengers do not have the required documentation," Blinken said.
Afghanistan: Taliban to allow 200 people including Americans to fly out of Kabul airport - CNN
Blinken is still an idiot, but the narrative that these people are hostages seems to be completely incorrect. Looks like it was just delays due to technical difficulties at the airport and wrong documentation.
As per usual, the press exaggerates and paints a dramatic picture that at best is incomplete, and at worst, completely wrong.
At the end of the day, the Taliban is allowing people to leave now and there doesn't appear to be any kind of hostage demands that have to be met.
It is amazing how you guys don't care about the 5000 taliban Trump got released, one of whom is in a position of power now. You are only concerned when it fits your tribal agenda.

We are not leaving anyone behind. Someone just provided you a link that shows how we are still actively getting Americans out of there.oh boo hoo - no one said I wasn't concerned about that either. Not sure they are leaders in the government AND my point was our government traded these 5 for a Am. citizen because we "don't leave people behind" yet now we left not just one but hundreds of Am citizens behind. It was commentary about leaving people behind vs not leaving them behind.

1. we are leaving thousands of SIV holders and qualifiers behind
2. the Qatari flight apparently isn't getting all the Americans out per the link I posted
3. I do not doubt we are coordinating with the Qatari but they are the ones along with private citizens getting people out
I hope and pray we get everyone out but at this point I'm not holding my breath.
