TCU left out

I thought they were supposed to take the 4 best teams in the country over the entire year and if thats the case it should have been 1 Alabama 2 Oregon 3 Baylor 4 TCU. Both Florida State and Ohio State are worse teams than TCU and Baylor. I can undetstand slipping FSU in becausr of the 0 loses but Ohio State gets in because they had a game that looked rigged for them to win then lobbying by ESPN. I just dont get it. Should have been a 6 team playoff.this year with Alabama and Oregon getting byes

Hopefully, this becomes the Big 12's wake-up call to form a championship game. Also, the playoff needs to be expanded to 8 immediately.

And who can they add that won't just be diluting product (/ that they won't all be losing money on)?

In Baylor's case, that out of conference schedule killed them...they're going to have to change that in the next year.

They were what, 128th in the country in that regard?

No, it really doesn't. There really weren't 4 teams deserving of a shot at the title this year, and doubling the field will only add more undeserving teams and allow the ninth place team piss and moan about being left out.

Oh, I'd be losing my mind if I'm TCU fan, but in the end, think OSU has a better case.

How do you argue OSU>TCU? No head to head to compare. SOS is there for TCU. TCU has a much less worse loss. OSU lost to unranked VaTech and TCU lost to a top 10 team on the road by 3 points.

It helped OSU a ton that they turned it on late because that is what stuck in the white dudes memory more than the rest of the year.

Someone was going to be pissed off today. I think they've done this the best way they could have, for several reasons:

1. Urban vs. Saban!
2. Oregon vs. FSU!
3. We get the Big 12 Championship back, if Bob Bowlsby cares about success whatsoever
4. Sends message about non-con. Schedule up, Baylor.
5. Opponent records: Ohio State 84-60, TCU 61-70, Baylor 61-70. Sorry.

They are where they belong, imo.

Except TCU could win it all and Ohio State couldn't beat any of Alabama, Oregon, FSU, TCU or Baylor.

Living in Big 10 country and watching it every weekend, I can attest to how horrible the Big 10 is. Ohio State has no chance of winning the championship. Zero.

Saban already took care of Urban at Florida. Will be even easier this time around in middle of nowhere Ohio that Meyer has had less time building. Alabama is going to do what Florida and LSU did to Ohio State.

BCS 2.0

If we go by how the committee has been ranking them then I have no idea why TCU should get penalized for winning 55-3 over a bad team. Maybe if it had been closer. But then were 3rd for some reason and then get bumped down two all of a sudden. Musical chairs with the ranking by the committee.

Agree. jmo... but I think the committee was being very hopeful that either FSU or tOSU would lose their games, making the selection process much easier. Once both teams won, especially the way tOSU won, they were forced to reevaluate.

Big 12 needs to swallow their pride and grab SMU/Houston/Tulsa/CSU or whoever and get to 12 teams so they can have a championship game.

It's not a pride thing.

It's all 10 members making less money each year (and their overall TV contracts with networks becoming less) because of the conference would now having to carry 2 teams that doesn't bring anything to the table (other than being a placeholder).

Gawd, I don't know if I can handle another weepy, emotional Urban Meyer press conference.

On second thought, yeah, I can handle it.

Go Vols.

I feel awful for Art Briles, Gary Patterson, and their respective teams. Mostly Briles and his guys, because Bob Bowlsby went against his own conference rule in not naming one champion. He's the reason you won't be seeing either TCU or Baylor in Pasadena/NOLA next month.

Losing Colorado and Nebraska sucked. Those two teams fit in the big 12 well.

That was a mess. Granted, Nebraska was going to jump at the opportunity to play in the Big 10 period (once that first expansion period started).

I always felt Colorado more snuck out the back when everyone in the conference was busy fussing about Nebraska (/Missouri) and the Big Ten.

Agree. Big ten is terrible. TCU got the shaft
