TCU overrated?

If the goal for the CFP rankings is to rank the best teams then TCU is significantly overrated. Conference Champions do not get an automatic bid to the playoff and should not be the reason a team is ranked high or low. If TCU played the schedule of other teams in the CFP rankings what would there record be? TCU would have at least 3 probably 4 losses against Tennessee's schedule. The Vegas Spread would be 3 touchdowns against Georgia and Alabama. Probably 2 TDs against LSU and Florida. I understand you play the schedule you are given but watching them play puts them at the level of Kentucky IMHO.

I'm not saying TCU is a Top 4 team....but if you actually think they are on the same level as UK, your crazy.

Probably so but the "ifs" are pretty sizable, especially for USC.
I’m afraid the media and ESPN will really push USC hard over getting in over us if they win out. I know we are better than USC but I think they try and screw us over cause they don’t want two SEC teams again in the playoff.

In the good old days of Conference Bowl Agreements and fewer bowl games we would probably see with the Current SEC teams.

SEC Champion Georgia in the Sugar Bowl probably playing the loser of Ohio State-Michigan
Tennessee would be in the Cotton Bowl playing TCU
Alabama would be in the Fiesta Bowl playing the loser of UCLA-USC
LSU would be in the Citrus Bowl probably playing Clemson
Ole Miss would be in the Gator Bowl playing North Carolina
Miss State in the Liberty Bowl playing Oklahoma
Florida playing in the ReliaQuest Bowl(Hall of Fame then Outback Bowl) against Illinois
South Carolina in the All American Bowl against Iowa
Kentucky in the Peach Bowl playing Wake Forest
Arkansas in the Independence Bowl against Kansas

Well the committee won’t. They value conference champions and undefeated teams unfortunately for us we are neither. We need TCU and Southern Cal to lose.
How do you know they value conference champions more than a teams overall resume?

. I def think we should get in over a 1 loss USC team even if they win the PAC 12. TCU has a much better claim if they win the Big 12 and they are unbeaten and they will be deserving of being in the playoff at 13-0 and Big 12 champs I got no problem with that.

Overrated? No. They are deserving. IMO they’re just as deserving as UM and Ohio State as they have played a tougher schedule. Are they one of the top 4 teams in the country? No. But winning is the best formula regardless of everything else. If they keep winning, you can’t fault them and keep them out just because you think another team is better.

But I will say this, everyone thought the Texas game was their “trap game”. No, that was the game they were looking ahead to and was ready to play. Baylor is their trap game.

TCU is good and I like them, however, Texas should've beat them but Texas QB sucked. That game was fairly even except for Texas sorry QB play, although it helps when your receivers can actually catch the ball.
Sark sucks as a HC. Texas should’ve beat them

I don’t think so. The next two weeks will tell. I’d they finish u defeated and win their conference they belong, imo.

Maybe overrated, but they are also undefeated. If they finish as such and have a conference championship, it is almost impossible to deny them a berth.
Yep and I want us to be in the playoff badly and think we should get in over a 1 loss USC team or the loser of the Ohio St- Mich game and Clemson but if TCU runs the table then they deserve to be in the playoff.

The playoff teams will be TCU, Tennessee, Michigan and Georgia.
I wouldn’t count on that. Under this scenario, you’re assuming UM beats Ohio State. That means the last spot will come down to Ohio State and TN (maybe USC if they win out but doubt it). I wouldn’t trust the committee enough to put us over Ohio State. I will feel a lot better if they have to choose between us and Michigan than us hints Ohio State.

***Yes we should 100% be in over either of those Big10 teams with 1 loss but do we trust the committee to actually do that with their beloved Heisman hopeful?

This whole Georgia obliterated Tennessee national narrative really irks me. Yes we got our butts kicked. Yes we were dominated most of the game.

But with our style of play, convert on just one more of those late first down/red zone attempts, it’s 27-20 with an onside kick looming. Good buddy of mine is die hard Georgia fan and admitted he was very nervous late in the 4th all the way till the clock struck 0.

I think it depends on the score of UM/OSU. If UM goes in and just dominates them, then yeah I don't see how they can put OSU in over us, but if it's a close game. Yeah OSU will get in and we'll be on the outside unless TCU loses.

I think the committee keeping us at five is just them waiting on someone to lose so they can move us up and keep us there. I say if we get back in the top 4 we won't drop out.

Even though when it was Bama and UGA they were fine with it...

Yeah, no bias in the media
