. I didn’t think of that scenario.I wouldn’t count on that. Under this scenario, you’re assuming UM beats Ohio State. That means the last spot will come down to Ohio State and TN (maybe USC if they win out but doubt it). I wouldn’t trust the committee enough to put us over Ohio State. I will feel a lot better if they have to choose between us and Michigan than us hints Ohio State.
***Yes we should 100% be in over either of those Big10 teams with 1 loss but do we trust the committee to actually do that with their beloved Heisman hopeful?
I will never forgot them aholes screwing Manning out of a Heisman in 1997 them and Sports IllustratedThey always haveView attachment 515258
My God, do you have dementia. My Mom's memory is better than that, and she is 77. You need to post facts; this is not FOX News.TCU's season reminds me somewhat of the 98 vols. At lot of close games, they were outside the BCS looking in up until the very last week when a couple teams lost above them. Still they were the only unbeaten team and underdogs to FSU. Fulmer said you don't have to be the best team in the country, just the best on the field each week, or something like that. That being said, hopefully they will lose before the final selection.
No, it wasn't 01, because that's the year we should have played Miami, and they would have killed us.Kinda reminds me of that Ohio State team that beat Miami in the national championship... when was that, 2001? They just keep winning close games against teams they should beat comfortably so people keep expecting them to lose, and expecting them to lose... and they just keep winning.
My only exposure to TCU was vs. Texas. That was a trash game for both teams. TCU QB seemed like he got sacked every other play. Texas QB couldn't hit the broad side of a barn and it was still close. Wasn't impressed with them (and yet they won). Maybe ya'll are just watching highlights. I understand the "haven't lost yet" concept, but dang, they looked like crap against Texas.legit to what? Their potent offense got held down by Texas. Now imagine what Georgia does to that team. Tcu isn’t one of the four best teams in the nation; hell they’re likely not one of the eight best teams in the nation.
I’m not saying they’re not a good team, but let them play Florida, Bama, and GA every year and see if they’re in the top 5 every year. Their schedule is weak every year besides a couple teams
Clemson would probably be in Orange Bowl, citrus bowl would be Penn State or Illinois. In the good old days of Conference Bowl Agreements and fewer bowl games we would probably see with the Current SEC teams.
SEC Champion Georgia in the Sugar Bowl probably playing the loser of Ohio State-Michigan
Tennessee would be in the Cotton Bowl playing TCU
Alabama would be in the Fiesta Bowl playing the loser of UCLA-USC
LSU would be in the Citrus Bowl probably playing Clemson
Ole Miss would be in the Gator Bowl playing North Carolina
Miss State in the Liberty Bowl playing Oklahoma
Florida playing in the ReliaQuest Bowl(Hall of Fame then Outback Bowl) against Illinois
South Carolina in the All American Bowl against Iowa
Kentucky in the Peach Bowl playing Wake Forest
Arkansas in the Independence Bowl against Kansas
TCU is most deserving of a spot in the playoff if they go 13-0. But they will not be 1 of the "best" 4 teams in the country in the playoff.
And that is a balance the CFP has to handle. Like last year, Cincy was not one of the best four, but they deserved a spot in.
