Derrick Walker, too. Plavsic was another that when he was ruled ineligible, and then eligible mid-season, the average fan probably thought he was the savior in the post.
Speaking of Plav, been a few highlights where he actually looks serviceable…saw a 3-3 session where he ran PnR with Chandler and they threw him an oop, looked smooth.

Saw it, too. I just hope it translates. If he could give us 5 points and 4 rebs a game, then he is doing enough.

Until he plays physical with his body (I don't mean banger, just physical) then I don't think it will. And maybe that is happening. But I saw exactly what you saw on the practices I got to watch last year and had so much hope. I like him a lot, I do hope he becomes a rotation player.

Expecting 8-10mins with 5pts 4rbds is a bit much imo
Him grabbing 4 rebounds per 10 minutes is simply not happening unless he has become a completely different player. He grabs exactly zero rebounds "outside of his area" and basically serves as a boxout my guy and hope my teammates grab the rebound type of player. Would love to be proven wrong on that this season.

Agree, it looked to me last season he thought his role was to set screens for shooters and as you said box out in his area. The ball would have to bounce off his head to get a rebound. Maybe that was his role per Barnes.

No, and he probably wouldn't average that across 15 minutes if past performance is any indicator. In order for him to be more than just another guy on the bench, he needs to up his production with his increased minutes.

As with a couple seasons past, if he could contribute even ten meaningful, productive minutes it would help this team in a huge way. I'm hopeful something like that will happen. He has the physcial tools to contribute at least that much, let's hope the light bulb finally comes on.

You can't teach Plas's size but he plays small. He still reacts slow to the play and has to be more than a goofy brut on the court.

They should have him doing reaction and leaping drills in large doses. Smaller players should notice him when they try to come up in the lane but he doesn't get off the ground well.

I will be happy if he makes the improvement next year to be a solid 10-12 minutes guy. This year would be a bonus.

Count me as someone who thought he would have an immediate impact but now I think it was only because he was the only real size on the team.

I remember watching Duke Crews hit 7 straight three pointers pregame against South Carolina one time at TBA lol
Yea…I think the noteworthy part is that it’s occurring during live scrimmages 5/5, meaning it’s part of what they’re running/coaches are ok with.
