So if we had to pick a starting lineup with everyone healthy would most of y’all agree with this; Zeigler-Vescovi-Knecht-JJJ-Awaka or Aidoo. That seems like a good five. Then you have guys like Jefferson, Dillione, Gainey, Estrella, etc off the bench.

Aidoo will probably start. Awaka can backup both the 4 & 5. Wouldn’t be surprised if Dilione starts either, while protecting and managing Zeigler’s minutes. Ledlum leaving could very well expand our rotation to 11 if Barnes allows it because there is around 24-25 minutes he probably would have played to divide up to other guys (Estrella and Jefferson in particular). JJJ may start at the 4 but I don’t see him playing heavy minutes throughout the year (estimate 20-24)

Nice to see Knecht and Gainey get some time in front of media. Cautiously optimistic that Knecht is going to be a very good weapon for us, because he can score at every level and can create on his own. Gainey can shoot and create a bit off the dribble as well. Solid backup for Vescovi and interestingly that he said he was getting some time at point. Given Mashack surprisingly played some quality backup minutes at point when Zeigler got hurt, gives us some options.

I poo-pooed the idea of him playing much PG here when he committed because hadn't demonstrated much of an ability to do it at USC-Upstate, so I'm not sure whether to be happy to potentially be wrong, or concerned. I've just not seen much in his game that screams that he's the guy whose hand you want the ball in trying to facilitate the offense. He just seems to work much better off the ball and that is where he strengths lie, kinda like Santi, who quite honestly has shown more of a PG game than Gainey.

Maybe I’m wrong, but regardless of what any of the coaches say, I’m guessing any minutes Gainey sees at PG will be the result of Ziegler not being 100% yet or a byproduct of Ziegler and / or Freddie being in foul trouble. More or less a desperation PG to keep Santi off the ball. We’ll see.

Yeah, I agree, but I'm bearish on ZZ being ready before SEC play.

Zach Kent was not a real person. He was the Tennessee Vols version of Syd Fynch. Probably invented on April Fools day as well. He was 7-7, strong as an ox, with range well beyond the NBA three point line. He also had 120 mph fastball but chose basketball over baseball.

I'm assuming this is inaccurate about him redshirting this year, right? Only Cade Phillips is expected to redshirt I assume. Especially after watching the videos, it sounds like Barnes expects him to help us this year.

Yeah, I would say that’s definitely inaccurate. Barnes talked a lot about him helping this years team and even said “he’s going to have too” at one point.
