Team Rankings (Recruiting)

UGA had 3 freshmen on the OL. That's young in a very key spot.

I didn't say they weren't young. They were just a little older than UT and had more value in their Sr's- Bailey, Henderson, two OL's, Brown, and several defensive players.

Sjt that wasnt directed towards you. I agree with a majority of your postings. It was directed to KPTvol. and he is not a VN Guru.

Please. Rogers was in his third year in the program, as was McNeil. How long does it take to get ready? Apparently not long, as Rogers got on the field as a true freshman. Those guys were not young.

There were of course several young guys that played. I never said otherwise. However, we had lots of experience, especially at the most important position, QB.

You are a moron. I forgot more about UT football while watching the Super Bowl then you will ever know.

I believe the same thing that I have been hearing Jimmy Hyams say for a few months now, the Vols will probably be better next year IF the QB situation pans out and the DL stays healthy. However, the Vols can be better next year and still finish 3rd in the East because UGA and UF will also be that much better and then some.

I still don't buy the argument that UT was young. We weren't any younger than any other SEC team. You are always going to have a few young players on your team. UT has been using the youth excuse for too many consecutive years.

You're exactly right. We were extremely young in the secondary. However, we were not a young team last year.

All very true. Still, if we actually decide to play Florida this year, we have a chance. The way we folded up against UF last year, we had zero chance. Also, I've got to think that Clawson will probably want to try to score a point in the second half of the game, unlike Cutcliffe. As for UGA, I wonder if once again a strong second half of the season against some poor competition (excluding Auburn) once again has us fooled into thinking they are back to being the team they were from 2002-2005.

Can anyone help me out with a question? Why can the SEC sign more recruits than other conferences? For example, I believe that Alabama is signing more than they actually have spots for (knowing that all those guys won't make it to school in the fall). I am not sure if this is true for most conferences, but I heard that the Big Ten can't oversign.

I wasn't arguing. Just pointing out that UGA had 3 freshmen on the OL. That's young in a key spot

Very young in a technical spot. Footwork and handwork very important. Our problem is can our D-line penetrate and disrupt even a mediocre front! Our line should improve some from last year but will it be enough?
