It is clear you weren't old enough to watch him in '98....or '95, '96 and '97 while he supported his team and waited for his turn.

When you do finally reach the age where you are requires to take a full time job, I hope your one requires you to move, with a wife, and kids (one set on the east coast and one set on the west coast). I hope you are forced to weigh ALL of the options, not just what you WANT to do, but what is best for all of the people that mean the world to you.

Last I recall, priorities are 1. God, 2. family and then everything else.

Once you're kicked out of your mom's house or finish your 6th year at college, you'll get hit with a large dose of reality and realize that other people are effected with every decision you make.

Man, if he's a man of character he's not going to pull a Lane Kiffin to all the players he has coached up and just recruited. Take your orange sunglasses off and look at it from a job changing, family uprooting, now you've lied to recruits at USC perspective.

Such a moronic statement, and scarier is the number of likes it has received. Tee QBed a NC team for UT. He didn't win it on his own, but he's a big reason we won it. Being a VFL does not mean you put UT over the welfare of your family. Being in LA works better for his wife's career and dreams, while affording him a job to coach at a well known university for probably more money than UT was offering? How many of you VFLers out there are going to take a paycut and say fu to your wife for UT? Yeah, I see that happenning.

Best of luck to Tee, and maybe one day the timing will be right for him to come back to Rocky Top.

Or maybe he made promises to recruits he intends to keep. I've made promises that cost me money to uphold. Its about keeping your word, and what that is worth to you.

It's funny that most of the posters that agree with the OP have just recently joined the site. I still think there needs to be a moratorium on new members. Seems to me like a good percentage of them are here to spew hate and vitriol like the OP and don't contribute anything positive to this forum.

I'm proud of Tee. He is an amazing success story. He gave UT a national championship and has now risen amongst the coaching ranks to become a hot commodity. He stayed at USCw where he has helped coach up a great crop of WRs including a kid that came in 4th in the Heisman vote - a freaking wide receiver! Why did he stay with USCw? I'd bet everything I got it had more to do with his family and his comfort level there than anything against UT. Look, not every former player is as die hard as you want them to be. I'm perfectly fine with that. Tee Martin has an awesome future ahead of him. Who knows - he could be an OC or even HC here later in the future. All I know is the guy made his choice and to go from loving him to hating him in 24 hours is insane. He has more to consider than who his alma mater is. Good luck Tee. You STILL represent Big Orange Nation well. You ARE STILL a VFL.

I hope Tee is happy in Cali. He owes UT nothing. 1998 he and the Vols beat FSU. He paid forward forever that day. I hate FSU.

Agreed. Said this before Tee's decision was made: Whatever decision Tee makes, he still helped Tennessee win the first ever BCS championship, and he deserves our respect. I am upset Tee decided to stay at USC, and denied us a small measure of revenge against Lame Kiffin. I wanted him here just as bad as everyone else, but what all you bashers fail to realize is that some of the folks that real your comments could be a parent, uncle, high school coach, or friend of a game changing recruit. Good Lord, guys, don't you realize that many of Tennessee's future recruits may be reading your comments?

I blame Vince McMahon for admitting to the world that pro wrestling is staged. Had he not said that, it would have held the attention of some of you twerps more closely.

Not so odd. Tee's wife is working on a singing career, and last time I checked, Knoxville doesn't have many great facilities for aspiring musicians. And don't talk about having them in Nashville, I do not think her genre is country, bluegrass, or gospel.

We can speculate over and over about this for no good reasons. Butch will still fill the receivers coaching position, and the games will go on, unless the Mayans are right. As Leslie Neilsen said in the naked gun movies, "Move along, move along. Nothing to see here!"
