What 3 guards did Wichita State have that were better than ours?

I think the biggest different is the assist turnover ratio between the teams. Tennessee was near the bottom in team assists.

Tennessee avg 10.8 asst 12.9 turnovers

Wichita st avg 13.8 asst 12.8 turnovers

Wichita wasn't great but it was decent enough to win games. Tennessee had a lot of trouble with pressure.

UT needs a PG in the worst way.

It was clear last night that a good/great PG can be all the difference.

They already think highly of us. Will be even better if we bring in someone else JuCo or what have you that can add to our talent.

If we can add a PG thats juco or transfer whose eligible immediately I think our chances are about as good as anyone's.

The thing about that is that our PGs a:to was actually pretty good, it was McRae and Richardson who really killed it.

Something to see. Like people above said I don't want to get to far ahead. Everyone back and healthy this season could be very successful.

If anything we can take away from watching Louisville and Michigan is that you have to have a bench. That might be the one question for this team. If Richardson, Moore and Reese can elevate their game more than what they showed this season UT should have a much better season. Bench play, point guard play, key guys staying healthy are all important factors to how next season goes. I still feel the point guard position has yet to be addressed. Not sold on Landry at this point.

As it turns out, there aren't many teams in power conferences bringing back 3 all conference players. Let's just hope Stokes does the smart thing and doesn't blow this all up by declaring. If he does that, we still might be good but we definitely aren't ranked in the preseason polls and our ceiling is much lower.

If you have conditioned guys I think you can do it without the bench...look at Kentucky last year, won it all and played a 6 man rotation in the championship game. If we can play: golden, Hubbs, McRae, Richardson, stokes and Maymon 30+ come tourney time that's lots of talent and experience.

I'd agree, Louisville's press and defense would be too much to handle for Tennessee. We'd hang with Michigan much easier. What I meant was that I thought Tennessee was capable of keeping it somewhat close.

Anyways, I think it's pretty curious how CBS and ESPN's top 25 are drastically different.

Not sure we could get the ball up the floor against Louisville.

Without Siva and possibly Smith the break could end in a Golden to Hubbs dunk. I like Jones and Rozier coming in but Louisville won't repeat without damn, Russ and Siva.

The game right now is all about attrition internally (Vols) and externally (other teams). On April 29 we should be able to tell if Tennessee has a shot at the the Final4 assuming Maymon comes back 100 %.

Don't forget Armani Moore. He could be the X factor if he has a great off season workout.

Final 4? Let's just worry about a decent seed in the tourney before talking about a place we've never seen.
