Much like JG, Tennessee is holding the ball too long. The receiver broke clear, we waited, and now the only thing open is the HB in the flat.

The metaphor works on so many levels.

I can't see Freeze going to 'bama. Saban will be a short-timer and Dabo is next in line. The Clemson fans really pissed him off whining about not running up the score vs SC.

There is literally no reason or incentive for Dabo to follow the greatest coach of all time.

Bama can't give him more money than Clemson can
Bama can't give him an easier route to the Playoffs than Clemson can
You could argue that Bama could offer more in recruiting, but that still isn't saying much given Clemson's recruiting

There's literally no incentive for Dabo to go Bama and try to live in Saban's shadow. He's his own man at Clemson and is basically building that shadow.

Look back in history and just about every coach that follows an all time great usually flops because the minute they have a down year, they immediately get roasted....

And to your point about Dabo being upset with fans, that's a given at this point given the run he's had. Saban supposedly gets pissed off because the fans don't hang around. I seriously doubt that Dabo is seriously pissed off by fans that he is looking to move.

I'll say this, if Dabo were to seriously consider leaving Clemson, Fulmer should be on the phone the next minute with one statement "Name your price", then kick Pruitt to the curb and hire Dabo.

That's right, he's actually a very good oc, you can't put much stock in the Auburn deal because of Gus. So apparently all of our eggs are now in the Freeze basket and I don't know how that's going to turn out. Maybe they have a plan with him or someone else that we don't know about but from us outsiders it certainly doesn't look to promising

Sounds like Tony is circling around to his blog entry, which basically says Vols need to cheat (a bit) on the recruiting trail and Freeze hiring would make that difficult.
