Tennessee Lady Vol News

I am writing the NCAA rules committee re this
This compares to "flopping"
Getting ahead of an impact player and just stopping in front of them
somebody's going to get hurt by this
I've said this forever when will they protect the players and the last few of our games (especially against Auburn) you could see that the coaches were coaching their players to do it. There is no place in the game for it imo.

If that is the case you adjust your lineup to get more bench production.

IE, Walker has never played the PG position in College and rarely in high school and she is playing it for us which has her facilitating more when she would rather be trying to score. Snoop was successful at Troy because they ran a 4 out 1 in, when she gets her touches Key is often on the opposite box so the person defending Key can double off and help Snoops defender which often leads to snoop turning the ball over when she puts it on the ground.

I say that to say maybe we should shake up the lineup.

I am not kellie nor will I pretend to be and don't mind if others thinks this lineup is foolish but I would start the following:

PG-Brooklyn
SG-Walker
SF-Horston
PF-Puckett
C-TK

Brooklyn doesn't look to score and looks to facilitate so it frees Walker up to score like she did last game. Puckett also can stretch the floor from the outside which eliminates the double teams in the paint. Your first sub would be Rae in for Brooklyn and Snoop in for Puckett with Walker then sliding over to the PG. If Walker needs a breather then you bring in Tess as Horston slides to the PG slot. Against Arkansas you can almost go small ball behind Key and if that is the case you use Striplin and Puckett in spurts as her back up. Emily and Rennie would not play (unless they absolutely had to) and Tess and Wynn would be based on situation.

Like it.

We are in a position after the auburn game that we have to prove we deserve a high ranking and seed. This week shapes.up perfectly to do just that, playing 3 strong teams. Now let's get these wins.

That is what has to happen. Drop any of these 3 games and we are out of the top 10 and probably looking at no better than a 4 seed in the tournament.

i guess the only good thing is that a win against us is considered notable again...sigh... i hope we see a pissed off TN team

Yep, just love to have a mountain to climb I guess.

With the week coming up we have 3 games and I believe both SEC games are must win.

We can likely lose to UCONN on the road and still be a top 10 team. A loss to Arkansas or Florida would probably drop us out of the top 15.

In SEC play we really can’t lose to anymore teams outside of the top 3 or we will make the NCAA tournament a lot more difficult for ourselves than we need to.

Battle for supremacy: Which women's hoops conference is the best?

Here’s a writer who thinks Tennessee can win it all, more good publicity. 🙂

“I’m going to keep this short this week. Maybe it’s because I just humbled myself with the above process, but I don’t have too many problems with the current AP Poll. I so think it’s time for Tennessee to move into the top 5 — I’ve seen enough from the Vols to vault them over Indiana, Michigan and Louisville. Their recent upset at the hands of Auburn is what dragged them down, but the overall body of work is good enough for me to overlook it.”

Stanford has lost 3. SC lost to Missouri. They stayed out. We lose to Auburn and drop 3. Nope.
