Yes you are the only one lol . Both of them are terrible defenders but Rae requires more attention on the offensive end with her attacking spirit rather than just sitting around the 3 point line.

If Tess could dribble drive and squish the mid range jumper when a defender close out on her she would be awesome but no as always fake the shot and pass

Curious to here your observations about Rae being a terrible defender. Are you talking about since she has returned from her injury or throughout her career. I have always viewed her as better on offense due to her great potential there when she is disciplined, but her defense has never given me a headache.

I don't think either players defense is terrible. Right now the defense is struggling with stopping the drive. I expect we will see a constant stream of driving until we prove we can stop it. Arkansas was good at exploiting the drive and it worked because they can shoot the ball too.

I want her to shoot the shots she believes she can make otherwise facilitate for others. She does have a dribble drive shot but she does not use it often.

No Geno Auriemma on the bench today. He was with the team all day at shoot around but is feeling ill and is not with the team at the moment. They said he may rejoin them at some point during the game.

Not COVID related per the broadcast staff.

**sharing in this thread only because we have a game with them Sunday.

Rae is a good defender. Last season, she shut down Rhyne Howard when UK played us at home.

I don't think we will get it. I'm expecting a devastating 4th quarter from the Lady Vols. It will be UConn's 4th game in a week and 3rd in 5 days. Probably not have much in the tank. Still hopeful.

Were certainly not the favorite in the game. Regardless of how many they have lost earlier this season they now have most of the players back except one or two and have not lost on their home court this season. They've lost on neutral court and away but not at home. The second half they played at Creighton last night was awesome hopefully they can't do that Sunday.

uhm, No. They will have played last night, Friday night, then Sunday. We played Monday night, tonight, and then Sunday. Our previous game before that goes back to That Thursday game…their previous game was Sunday. A little tougher row to hoe, imo.

Creighton couldn't take advantage on the glass which is where i think we will be able to seperste ourselves and while we play today and sunday (normal for us) they play friday only giving them a day to get ready and they may not have their coach around.

I don't think it will be easy but if I would say due to health, recovery, TN is favored. It may not work out that way in the end but i think TN has to be the slight favorite. Regardless it will be a fight.

Rae is a good defender when matched up against someone her size. I was amazed that the coaching staff match her up against Ramirez in the last game. She can't guard her and shouldn't have been asked to do so. Ramirez is short and quick can give taller players fits on the perimeter. When we finally went to Walker guarding her she didn't score many additional points in the game and had made her last three.

After that road game at Auburn I am very skeptical of our play on the road going forward. We'll see how we do today maybe I will get some confidence back.

It’s the board battle that I think wins us this game. This Connecticut team doesn’t seem aggressive on the boards and while it works against the teams they’re currently playing, that’s not a recipe for success against a team from the SEC let alone TN. This game will come down to if the refs allow us to gobble up the boards without calling fouls.
