I am not complaining about UConn per se. I was responding to the comment that committees take into consideration the health of players and who is playing is the game at the time of a loss. I didn't mention it, someone else did. I don't think they care, honestly and shouldn't. I do believe that the AP poll is a joke, made up of opinions derived from what other writers are blogging and pushing. So there ya go. No skin off my back. I am a UConn fan, but a pretty laid back WBB fan. I haven't been able to figure out what is in the heads of these pollsters yet, cuz honestly, it just simply makes no sense most of the time.At this point we are more concerned with medical reports than rankings
That and your incredibly bad financial reports…..ya’ll getting ready to go bankrupt in the AD, already three years straight begging state legislation to keep you afloat, that won‘t ride long.
those kids needed to see passion, concern,,,needed to be reminded of who they are and what they represent.I imagine that was difficult for Kellie since she seems to lean more naturally to the nurturing side of the personality spectrum. But I guess she figured she needed to get their complete attention, and so I'm sure seeing her be so atypically blunt and emotionally charged did the trick.
But if I were the betting type, I'd bet she hopes she never has to play that difficult role again.
Also, I'm skeered!
She was like this as a player, too.I imagine that was difficult for Kellie since she seems to lean more naturally to the nurturing side of the personality spectrum. You better not bet. Champions have a fighting spirit, and Kellie is a Champion. Hopefully she can instill the same fighting spirit in the team. I thought she was great!I imagine that was difficult for Kellie since she seems to lean more naturally to the nurturing side of the personality spectrum. Don't you worry your little head about it. I have read about people whose insecurities drive them to diminish others when they feel inferior. There are great therapies that can help you deal with your inadequacies and live a contented life. That and your incredibly bad financial reports…..ya’ll getting ready to go bankrupt in the AD, already three years straight begging state legislation to keep you afloat, that won‘t ride long.
While all things are possible and we could win @ SC, realistically we are most likely in a tight battle with Fla and LSU for 2nd place finish in the conference. Perhaps more importantly, the remaining games will determine who among the three teams gets the best SEC and NCAA tournament seedings possible. As you probably know, it is much better to be a 2nd or 3rd seed than a 4rth seed in each tourney so you don't have to face the #1 seed early in tournament. One problem is that we would lose a tie breaker with Florida given that they beat us, so we definitely need them to lose at least another game. Here are the remaining games:
LV: @bama, @S. Carolina, vs. Mississippi State, and vs. LSU.
Fla: vs Arkansas, @lsu, @Vandy, and vs. Miz.
LSU: @Mississippi State, Vs. Fla, Vs Bama, and @UT.
If we lose to SC, then the LSU game becomes critical as a loss would mean we would lose tie breakers to both Florida and LSU unless either of those teams also loses two more games.
At least the LSU game is in our hands given we could still beat them and win the tie breaker with them. We have to count on other teams to beat Florida, and if they lost two more times we would still get the 3rd seed even if we lost to both LSU and SC. So, we definitely need for Florida to get a loss to Arky and even LSU ideally.
1. Best Scenario - Lady Vols win out the regular season which would mean we would be the #1 seed in the SEC tourney and have a good chance for a #2 seed in the NCAA pending on doing well in the SEC tourney.
2. Most likely good scenario - Lady Vols win out except for the SC game and Florida loses one more game. This would give us a #2 seed for the SEC tourney and a good chance to reach the SEC tourney final. At that point, we would clearly be the 2nd best team in the SEC and likely get a higher NCAA seed than LSU or Fla., at the very least a #3 seed but possibly a #2 seed given all the upsets lately. Remember, a win against LSU and a SEC tourney win against a good team in the semifinals would burnish our ratings.
3. Scenario of losing two games and still getting a 3rd seed in the SEC tourney. If we lost two games (SC and LSU or even MSU), we need for either LSU or Florida to lose two more games as well.
Conclusions:
1. Florida has the best chance to lose the Arky and LSU games, so we know who to cheer for there (esp. the Arky game).
2. LSU game is the most important game of our regular season barring an upset of SC.
3. LV are in the driver seat to at least avoid a #4 seed if the win out except for the SC game.
4. Win all the remaining games and it will be shear bliss and great seedings.
I believe the LVs will win out and get the number one seed for the SEC Tournament. If we can't get first not to concerned about getting two or three as we will play the same team. Rather save SC for last and not play in that 1 and 4 game. I hope we can beat Bama on the road as the road has become our enemy. Then come home and beat Miss St. and that sets up the Tennessee vs LSU we win and were second alone lose and have a great shot at falling to fourth all depends on the games you pointed out. An Arkansas win over Florida then another loss to LSU puts it all on us vs LSU if we can win the couple we need to win. Of course I prefer to win the last four if that happens a miracle has happened and I will be thankful for it.While all things are possible and we could win @ SC, realistically we are most likely in a tight battle with Fla and LSU for 2nd place finish in the conference.
