Tennessee Lady Vol News

She looks like a bigger upgrade then what Walker is from what i see.
That may be so, but having connections with and insight from current members of a team helps with the recruiting process and can help to block out the negative noise that comes from social media sights all the time and/or other coaching staffs.

He talked about Pat, and Holly, then:

“And then, Kellie (Harper), it basically started from the day she arrived and held her press conference. I was across the street, and she comes in and sees me, and she comes over and gives me a hug and says, 'I knew you'd still be here.' When you form friendships and not just working relationships with incredible women like that, it can't help but come across whenever we're doing shows and stuff."

This is huge!

I agree, especially since it appears we are the first school she has chosen to openly visit and let people know she’s interested in. I think we can land her this weekend. Gotta hope.

Really have a feeling she wants to stay in the SEC. If she wants to compete for a championship I fully believe Tennessee would be her best option. The players we have returning only need a couple more people to help for us to be extremely dangerous.

LSU will be rebuilding, it would be a lot like the last two years at MSST for her. I don’t see South Carolina as a good option for her because they are already stacked at her position. They have several 4 players so no guarantee she would be the star of that position there.

With Alexus graduating we have a natural opening for her at the 4 spot. We obviously have Suarez and Puckett coming back but both of them, and Jackson are versatile enough to play 2-4. With Rickea we would have great rotations with really good outside shooters all around.

Powell (🤞🏼), Darby, Horston, Jackson, Suarez, Puckett and Pissott can all shoot the deep ball. Little Darby may also get some minutes and can shoot it. Will make us extremely hard to guard compared to this season. Striplin can also shoot from deep but I don’t expect we will see her do that a ton.

I’m salivating now, but the prospect of Jackson in Knoxville is huge to me. She’s a player I have loved watching the last few years.

I’m not hesitant about Powell either. I think she has extremely high upside and speed. She’s an SEC caliber player. Just isn’t on a good team and not playing in a system designed for her to be most successful. She’s a stellar passer but doesn’t have the right pieces around her to take full advantage. I think her shot selection will be much different in Knoxville as well. Minnesota is basically just ‘hoopin on offense these days. Since Whalen has been there they have not run any sort of consistent offense and players just jack shots up. No quality bigs so they don’t have much inside game.

I would not count out South Carolina not just yet ? Landing Cardoso shocked a lot of people.

This is huge not just for next season.. I believe it’ll give this team a boost for the remainder of this season. It’ll help spearhead recruiting as well seeing that it’s already gotten the attention of 2022 5-star wing Justine Pissott (Tenn commit) who has shared and reacted to this breaking news on social media. Recruits are starting to see there’s something special building on Rocky Top.

Just said same thing on another thread. The bond on this team and their buy-in with KJH is apparently not just publicity BS. Kids want to come here and stay here. Huge, huge, huge and major props to KJH for turning the culture around so thoroughly from the sad abyss of broken spirits we saw just 4 yrs ago.

I loved that both KJH and the players interviewed last night after the game repeated a mantra of relax, be in the moment, and have fun the rest of the way. Not a "Patlike" approach to the post season at all, but for this team and all that's happened this year, it sounds exactly right. Obviously she reads her team very well.

As for Walker, she has been an absolute delight and I'm so glad to have her back. Even if we recruit an "elite" PG, she will be a huge contributor in any role. No senior day for JW! Not yet,

Can you imagine a staring line up of:
Powell
Walker
Horston
Jackson
Key
🤯🤯🤯

with another offseason of improvement for Darby, an offseason to improve in weaknesses for Miles, Puckett, Striplin, Wynn? True freshman Pissott? Whew.. get an experienced true post(6’2+) to backup TK and we’re definitely good.
