The Top 16 12-13-14-15-16 All weak teams in my opinion we can agree to disagree
So many of these teams in the top 25 are projected 8-12 seeds in the NCAA tournament. There is so much bias going on in the Coaches and AP poll this year. It's a really bad look and makes people not even want to look at the polls because of the inaccuracy and bias.

It would take someone having a deep, deeeeep hatred of anything to do with Lady Vol basketball to watch Rickea Jackson play and not be extremely impressed. Sometimes I find myself just shaking my head and wondering when I'll wake up.

She's the smoothest and most efficient player Tennessee's had since Parker. Rebounding aside, she reminds me so much of Holdsclaw in how effortlessly she plays the game.

I was having a dental procedure done today and wanted to think positive so I imagined Rickea up in the air and gracefully repositioning her body in mid-air and swishing her shot like only she can do. It worked as a pleasant distraction

I'm just glad she found a place to flourish and get back to this level of play. Too bad so much was wasted.

These RJ stats fm the UT press release blow me away:
14 games with 20 or more points scored. That production ties her for ninth at Tennessee for most 20+ efforts in a season and a career. She currently is on a six-game streak of 20-point performances, a feat that is topped here only by Chamique Holdsclaw (9, 1997-98), Candace Parker (7, 2006-07) and Bridgette Gordon (7, 1987-88).
Ninth in career 20+ pt games in just one season! Cue the "if only we had her longer" pangs. Hopefully she'll stay hot and move up the list of consecutive 20-pt performances this weekend. That's some very impressive LVFL company.

Swoopes was MUCH better handling the ball and creating off the dribble -- which is Jackson's Achilles Heel -- but I can definitely get the comparison as far as that smooth jumper.
IMO RJ creates pretty dang well off the dribble, but her handle could definitely be better. Big area for improvement is outside shooting. Imagine if she had a reliable 3 pt shot?? Should definitely come back and work on that!

We need Texas, Villanova, North Carolina, and Colorado to lose while we win a couple of games. Was hoping for a UCLA loss yesterday but they won in overtime. Oklahoma is another team we need to lose. Going to take some of these teams to lose while we win a couple of games.

I don't understand Villanova being so high in the ranking seeing their schedule. They do have a ranked win vs Princenton (who is no longer ranked) at the beginning of the season.

UCLA also won today against Az who was number #19 on the S-curve. UCLA should have probably been a hosting seed over Villanova and Oklahoma anyways. Colorado has had some good wins but i think it's gonna be either them or UCLA not both.

I think if we get to the finals and some of these other teams falter we will be a hosting seed. If UNC looses before the final i could see them dropping down no matter who it's too. I will say (and i hate saying this) their path to a title might be made easier with some of the recent injuries that occurred.

Not worth the effort to click the link
Cover your eyes. It’s accurate whether you like it or not. Kind of sad, we all hoped Kellie would get ut back to where they belonged. I was worried when her husband was hired as assistant coach. Not working out so far.

We would not need nor care of who lost at this point of the season had we taken care of our own.

Alabama's loss drops them from #31 to #28 in the NET, so our win against them is no longer a Q1 win. That said, I've heard on multiple broadcasts now that the women's committee doesn't use the quadrants like the men's game does. Here's the full the list of criteria (alphabetically):
  • Availability of talent (injured or unavailable players)
  • Bad losses
  • Common opponents
  • Competitive in losses
  • Conference record
  • Early competition versus late competition
  • Head-to-head
  • NET ranking
  • Non-conference record
  • Observable component
  • Overall record
  • Regional rankings
  • Significant wins
  • Strength of schedule

If that is the case, a lot of the folk's Charlie Creme has above us in Bracketology are going to be very disappointed. We are currently 14-4 following the Christmas break with losses to Connecticut, South Carolina, LSU and a 1 point Double Overtime loss to Mississippi State on the Road. None of these would be considered a bad loss and all the games were competitive for some or most of the game. Net Ranking is good, Strength of schedule is probably gonna end up at number 1, and only one major player on the team is currently on the injury list and that is Key and we have been without her most of the season. Conference record in comparison to most power 5 schools is good. Head to head, we have beaten a lot of teams that will be in the field. Again Charlie Creme has our seed level too low and will be shaking his head when the brackets are announced.
