Tennessee Lady Vol News

I said we can beat them, but Key is not on Kitleys level so I wouldn’t count on that matchup, we’ll have the best player in the floor and that will get it done this time.
Historical matchups of Key vs. Kitley:

2021-22 season:
- Kitley: 4 points, 1-12 FGs, 9 rebounds, 3 blocks, 3 turnovers, 2 steals, 2 assists
- Key: 11 points, 5-8 FGs, 12 rebounds, 5 blocks, 3 turnovers, 2 steals, 1 assist

2022-23 season (with Key unknowingly having bloodclots):
- Kitley: 6 points, 3-13 FGs, 9 rebounds, 3 blocks, 0 steals, 1 assist
- Key: 11 points, 5-7 FGs, 7 rebounds, 3 blocks, 1 steal, 1 assist

Kitley is shooting 16% from the floor against Tamari in her career. Tamari is shooting 67% against Kitley.

I think it was largely mental. Even with open looks, Kitley was missing a lot of shots that she normally makes. The question is whether Tamari now is at least equivalent to the last time they squared off. She seems so much slower now and not as aggressive defensively.

Would we be better or worse with Kitley instead of Key?

Nothing against Tamari, but they'd obviously be much better with Kitely because of her all around game. Defensively, she's not as good as Peak Key, but she's still pretty damn good. Rickea, Jewell and Sara wouild be open so much and so frequently that they wouldn't know what to do with themselves.

That’s my point, they was trying to say Key was better.

I wasn't saying Key is better; you said "Key is not on Kitleys level so I wouldn’t count on that matchup" and "Kitley would abuse Key" so I was just pointing out that Key has shown herself more than capable of handling Kitley in head-to-head competition.

Of course, Kitley is an All-American, and she's an all-around better player than Key. I agree with Amb that "Peak Key" is a better defender than Kitley, but Kitley is incredibly skilled on offense. This year there would be no question that Kitley would be a fantastic replacement or addition to our team with Key not being close to 100%. But Key at 100% is a player that really disrupts what teams are trying to do offensively and players like that don't come around very often.

How can u say Key is a better defender, Kiley moves her feet better and can keep players in front of her, Key doesn’t move well at all and gets blown by constantl?

I've never been that impressed by Kittly, and honestly think I'd rather have Key, now Amoore on the other hand...
I’m not saying I’m all impressed with Kiley but she’s better than Key by a mile, trust me if we had Kitley instead of Key we would have a much better record.

I don't think you have looked at the stats from previous games. Both times Tamari has played against Kitley she held Kitley well below her averages and played her evenly if not outplayed her. And, the second time was while Tamari was hampered by the blood clots, which had not yet been diagnosed.

EK will be first or second team AA and she doesn’t impress you. Averaging 23/12 this year. Ok.

Let me clarify. I've only seen her in a handful of games and in those games, she did not look overly impressive. Amoore on the other hand...

Let me clarify. Look at her numbers man. So you admittedly don’t watch her play much, but in spite of her being one of the top players in the nation you haphazardly just throw out you are not impressed. Sounds logical. Good thing you are not in charge of building rosters tbh. “Not impressed“, it’s laughable, not impressed by a 24/12 post player….”I’d rather have Key”….Stick to FB, comments like you made show your knowledge of this sport.

It was a haphazard comment in a haphazard thread. You're taking this way too seriously, lil feller.

Next time, I'll conduct proper research and watch 40 hours of tape before typing.

Try knowing what you are talking about first, helps with the credibility dude. I’m no perfect bunny either, but I damn sure try to make sure if I post something it’s accurate or at the very least credible.

Maybe you're having a bad day, a little cranky. That would be fair. Honestly, my day has really sucked, and I choose to come here for some friendly sports talk. So go ahead, come after me, and my message board "credibility". smh

Kellie confirms DW is coming back via redshirt. So I guess that means she still has two yrs? The RS and the covid?

She only played in 10 games this year, so maybe her RS is preserved, seems so. Not sure on the rules for a 6th year, someone else more knowledgeable about these things can give us insight here, but the COVID year thing clouds it for me.

Destinee was a rising senior, so she could either graduate this year or come back next year as a COVID extra year. Since she was injured and is redshirting, then she gets a do-over...so 2 more years of eligibility.
