Tennessee Lady Vol News

One thing I have noticed is it seems like everyone on this team is getting love and some spotlight. Top to bottom. Not just the projected “stars” like years past. Really nice to see.

Whoever is doing the promo is doing a fantastic job, the editing and composition of the photos and videos has been really dope. That will help with recruiting no doubt. In the NIL era everyone loves a great shareable photo.

With an expected rotation of 10-11 players...

I'm surprised. He's gonna be a new dad mid-season.
🤔 But maybe that position intentionally has that kind of flexibility built in. That would be cool.

I wouldn’t think that would be a traveling position.

I’m guessing her mom will also be living with her based on their relationship but could be wrong. They are definitely in the tax bracket for a live in nanny at this point as well. It’s gonna be crazy, but I’m sure they will get it done.

Ha! There's nothing like the sudden realization that one might be expected to play the primary role in caring for a newborn if you're not working full-time to get one off one's "Don't Wanna Be Mr. Mom" ass to get a full-time job! 😂

Rick Barnes circled the man-wagons and threw him a bone. lol

I'm sure that used to be true for most, and is still true for many.

But every young dad I know today sees a much more hostile world out there, seeping into his home, and a society whose institutions no longer reinforce healthy values and ideals that were once held common. The young fathers I see only want more time to bond with and instill truths into their babies.

There's been quite a shift in parenting over the past generation.

If if if, this season ends on a high note, AND several of our conference competitors tank and we grab a couple more players of note, not enough people will blink to be noticed. Will lose a few loud ones, but fan quality goes up too.
Call me a low quality fan. I'm not loud; I just like cheap tickets.

Yet, even with the financial means to be able to make the choice to become a super-bonding, stay-at-home protector dad, Justin is choosing to start a new, very busy job.

I'm not suggesting there's anything wrong with that. Of course not! I'm just saying I'm not seeing quite as dramatic a shift in general parenting responsibilities as you are. What percentage of men, do you think, are now the primary caregivers of their infants and toddlers?

It will be interesting to see how it works out for them.

I was thinking the "shift in parenting responsibilities" would necessarily happen because of the time demands of the job to which Kim is already committed. In response to those demands (at least for this first year of the baby's life) I would naturally expect the father to find the most time-flexible way to be with that baby during the times each day when she cannot. Income would not be an issue, given her salary.

Though I have heard that the youngest parents are more inclined to look for daycare than are experienced parents. Every parent tries to learn from their first-child mistakes.
(...he said, being an only child--LOL!)

I like being undervalued just will make it sweeter during the season.
And that under-valuing should shift the players' motivation from loyalty ("let's prove our coach's concepts work") to personal pride ("let's prove that our team is better than they anticipated").

Healthy.

It also could refocus the team's expectations away from the existential weight of "the Lady Vols brand" and onto practical, daily, concrete preparations in the here and now for the coming season.

Something that hadn't occurred to me before seeing this clip is the greater amount of practice they get within each practice! Impressed.

I'm starting to think that our first pulled muscle in a game will occur when a timeout is called... from a Lady Vol trying to come to to a halt!

This team has elite athleticism. I believe right now this team couldn’t care less about preseason predictions/rankings. They are locked in. So many former ranked players. McD All-Americans, and players with collegiate accolades. Not a single team in the SEC this roster can’t matchup with any given night.
