Tennessee Lady Vol News

Sara Puckett is an all time fave, exemplary LVFL. What a ride she's had from that game winning shot in the tourney her frosh yr until now. She's the epitomy of the hard working role player who's vital to the program.

Loved her shoutout to Rickea, and this is something the coaching staff can really make work for them in recruiting. RJ is nearby and has already said she's looking forward to coming to games. Few things speak to recruits like proven success.

Hope to see Jordy and TK around too, Jordy was at several games last yr and will be in Nashville for a period this winter playing in AU.

Don't know why I just thought of this, but...
I haven't heard any reviews of the new Yee-Haw Vols Lager beer. Anyone?
I didn’t get to try the new lager 🍺 last time I drove through Knoxville but I sampled four of their varieties out near Farragut. Tasty. 😋 @cobbwebb0710 can get you hooked up with the lager now.

It is what it is. It’s selling well and Yee Haw was smart by making it a light lager, rather than a hoppy IPA.
It’s definitely crushable.
Who cares though, it has the Power T on it! You could add alcohol to muddy puddle water, slap that T on it and I’d prolly drink it.
🤷‍♂️😎

There will be a softball home run hitting contest at Sherry Lee Parker Stadium tomorrow between the players and alumni and there is free attendance per today's News Sentinel.

Fans can bring food and beverages to the event.

Looks like this team is facing a tough group of fans at least on facebook. Certainly ok as team should have to prove itself. I just find it hard for so many to think winning over anybody by 48 and 40 is not impressive especially when last seasons team was beating these type teams by 25 to less. I see no reason they can't compete in the SEC guess I'll find out soon enough.

The good news is that we have Ole Miss, Alabama, and Oklahoma at home. So three teams picked ahead of us will play us here which is better than playing them on the road.

Those are the Kellie clowns. They’ll move along eventually lol. Slow learners.

I talked to lots of folks at the first two games. This is the landscape:

1. Diehard fans who love what Pat built. They want to win, but they don’t criticize because they love the LVs.
2. Fans who will stick with the Lady Vols through feast and famine, but they are sometimes emotional wrecks because of their passion for the program.
3. Doubters who don’t want to think about the complexities of the game, recruiting, training, etc. Keep it simple.
4. Fans who want any Lady Vols’ coach to succeed. They don’t question unless there is an egregious problem like we’ve been seeing lately on other teams.
5. Fans from the Holler. No offense. Not using the label in a derogatory way at all. These fans have inherited their attachment to the Lady Vols via a few generations of folks from rural areas who loved Pat because she was down home. They loved Pat because she was no nonsense, a disciplinarian, believed in hard work, etc. (see Pat’s Dozen). Pat’s values are their values. They turned a blind eye to what they didn’t like. Not going to elaborate.
6. Kids who are dazzled by the spectacle that they see in the hype and merchandise products. They want the free t-shirts, to dance with Smokey, do the Chicken Dance at half-time, see themselves on the Jumbotron, and eat crappy food.
7. Older women who so wanted to play real basketball, but it wasn’t available for them. Women who want to see themselves reflected in the players on the court.

I could go on, but…..

I haven’t said anything yet because I’m waiting for the Florida State and Iowa games, after those games I’ll give my personal assessment of this team.

It's only been two games against weak competition, but per Her Hoops Stats, we're 1st in the NCAA in offensive rebounds per game, 3rd in steals per game, 4th in turnovers forced per game, and 13th in points per game.
Don't forget the fallacy of statistics from small numbers.

Pretty sure he didn't forget after only 5 commas and a period.

Now me... yeah, I'd say always best to never trust my memory, just to be safe.

I think the description you’re looking for is “small sample size”. And you are correct. We should be careful and never forecast based on the small sample size to which we currently have access.
