Tennessee Lady Vol News

Still think we are the fittest team early in the season I’ve seen. Even Duke and Maryland playing a similar style are sucking air midway through the third.

We haven’t played anyone yet but I’ve hardly seen a player look tired. Maybe toward the very end of the last game but it sounds like we played Tuesday, had a hard practice Wednesday, and then played again Thursday.

We have MTSU coming up...they are #51 at last viewing (a week ago)
TN finished #26 and MTSU finished #40 last year (per NCAA NET rankings)
Neither are in top 25 for this year,,,yet

that game should give us a better barometer
Game thread tomorrow morning...game is one day after Veteran's day

S16 isn't bold, I agree. Bold would be "on the back of leading the nation in 3 points and scoring offense, Caldwell makes a serious push for her second NCAA Championship this year, bringing the Lady Vols to the Final Four for the first time in 16 years"
Yep , that is bold. Let’s not get carried away

I would give a lot to see your version of "bold" happen. I might actually die from the overwhelming shock to my system after so many years battling BVS, but it would be the perfect way to go. 😁

One thing for certain is that Coach Caldwell says we are far from what she is expecting come the end of the regular season. Not much praise for total team play just some praise for a few for their individual play. Hate to say we need better offense when were scoring 95 a game, but the truth is were 43 percent as a team overall and 26 percent from the three. Think she would like to see something up there to at least 47 percent overall and definitely 33 percent at least from the three. If we had those numbers we'd be averaging over 100 per game.

On defense letting opponents make a good pass out of our traps seems to be something she wants to see improvement on. Also to much fouling defend without fouling has to get a lot better. Good things that have happened. When have we ever had 45 steals in two games? We had 159 all last season in 33 games. 35 turnovers while forcing 68. I know the competition has been minimal thus far, but we played some of these type teams last year and never came close to this type of steals and turnover production. Usually we had more turnovers than those teams did and won by 20 by shooting better.

That was a terrible thing to bet! You should probably not post until the bet period is ovef so you don't lose all your "friends" on the forum. 😅
Yeah ya don’t tell before hand. It’s just for the day. That’s how I wound up with the hauk Tua girl following the Mets/astros series.

…we can get a little sophomoric in the Dugout. 😉🤙🏼

Part of attendance is from higher season tickets sales per report and part is from more students due to an incentive program for students to get higher likelihood to get higher in demand tickets such as football if they have gone to less in demand UT sports.

Yeah, but Kim is using these games to experiment with player combos, etc. I expect we’ll keep looking better throughout the season in part because Kim will know more about what works.
