Dayum. I just realized that to my eye, Cooper is the overall most active player either before or since Parker. And she's quicker than Parker. And she's only a redshirt sophomore! 🤯

I think sitting out a year probably had advantages and disadvantages. Maybe she is still a bit rusty? Learning the system?

Yep would be nice to win both of those. I think we end up splitting them and learning a hard lesson.

I fear the FSU game is going to be 2 teams in the 100s.

Iowa is a chance to redeem ourselves on our interior half court defense. O’Grady will score at will if you let her catch it unguarded like we did Smuda.

Coach Caldwell is an elite coach. Has won National Championships as a head coach at Glenville State.
Signs the #1 recruiting class according to 247Sports in 7 months at Tennessee the most renowned WBB of all-time.
Has a great assistant recruiting staff led by Coach Tubner and Coach Lazo.
Prawl is the real deal #6 on 247Sports.
Jaida Civil is the real deal #13 on 247Sports.
Mia Pauldo is the real deal #11 on Hoopgurlz.
Lauren Hurst is the real deal #42 on Hoopgurlz.

There's an old saying that "science advances one funeral at a time." New discoveries that would destroy the work or career of an established scientist/lecturer in that field will typically be rebuffed or its citations disfavored... until a time it can be accepted without "collateral damage"--i.e., until those scientists are dead.

I wonder if we're going to see similar pushback by coaches and programs whose (certainly earned) respect, recognition, and position would suffer if this new system proves successful... if it proves to be the "paper that covers the rock" they built their coaching reputation on.

If so, it might show up in the coaches poll if certain voters demonstrate over the course of the season a consistently lower estimation of Coach Kim Stephens* Caldwell's successes. Worth watching to see if two distinct voting patterns emerge.

* I think I'm gonna start including her maiden name or initial, since her dad was such an influence in her life and toward her success, as a way to honor that. It should come naturally for those of us who were of that generation of LV fans who referred habitually to "Coach Pat Head Summitt."

I wonder what the Knoxville TV ratings are for Lady Vol games? I wonder if they're strong enough that a local TV station might purchase the rights from Baller to broadcast the game? Or one of the cable companies to show on their local access channel.

Can someone in K-town follow that story for the rest of us?

Still waiting to see what Chavez does, but I agree our class is number one if she doesn't go to LSU.
