Youre trying way too hard to be right.Someone said earlier that I should maybe read the guidance from the NCAA before acting like an expert. Ex is a has been and spert is a drip under pressure...so don't want to be and expert...especially when its used as a pejorative.
That was good advice.
Since we are only 17 pages into this thread might be a good time to reference the gospel according to the NCAA.
First the document is six pages long and broken into sections for different categories (vaccinated and unvaccinated) and different periods of the season (camp, scrimmages. competition)
So here goes: during competition unvaccinated players will be tested three days before competition and the day of competition. Vaccinated players are not tested unless they are sytomatic or have come in contact with a confirmed COVID-19 person.
Teams with less than fifty players should consider additional testing measures if three or more team members are found positive.
Should a team meet the extra testing requirements, decisions concerning activity will be left to the local level discretion...but decisions should be made with thoughts about the possibility of additional spread and the welfare of other teams when competion is involved. (Paraphased for space)
So based on the NCAA guidance, it is my understanding, if UM had more than three players identified as positive they were encouraged by the NCAA to cancel competition.
..
Totally agree. Gave you a like. However UM decision was a prudent one if the had three players test positive.Youre trying way too hard to be right.
Their own conference said they CHOSE not to play. Im not sure how it can be more clear than that.
"It was ultimately up to the Memphis basketball program whether to cancel Saturday's game against Tennessee, according to the American Athletic Conference."
Why Memphis basketball had no choice but to call off Tennessee game
Also thought that since BB straddles fall and winter until NCAa updates guidance this is all we are going to get.
If Penny isnt lying. The math works out to 13.5 players vaxed, lets round down because you cant half a person. So 13 vaxed players, Now we will once again give Penny the benefit of the doubt and say both vaxed players were the two patient zeros. So we are at 11. Now, the virus does have an incubation period of around 3-5 days, but unless the two patient zeros were out being wild who the team had been in common with should be pretty similar top to bottom. So we are supposed to believe that as many as 10-11 scholarship players were showing symptoms as to where a negative rapid test wouldnt have cleared them for the game. These numbers also dont include walk ons in the traveling party which couldve suited up as well weather Penny wanted them to or not.Penny said that 90% were vaccinated. 3 is 10% of 30. Penny’s math is funny.
He was born in Mississippi so they can easily claim him too.
You forgot to mention the protocoled MSU player having pics made with fans during quarantine?Having to cancel this game is a blow to all of us that so desperately want to get back to some semblance of normal. However, having said that, both schools' fans' hot takes are concerning. As I understand it University of Memphis had a student athele wake up this morning in his hotel room sick. That student tested positive for COVID-19 as well as his room mate. No one tested positive from a party last night...thats silly. Incubation is three to five days. Because the team traveled together all players must go into COVID-19 protocol. Therefore UM had no team to put on the court. In a country where over 800 000 have died from COVID-19 no sane person would have tried to play this game. That's just crazy talk.
More to be revealed.
