Tennessee - Memphis cancelled

There’s certainly a lot more questions than answers in all this. I have a close friend on Memphis staff and I’ll hit him up in a couple of days to get his take. He’s always shot straight with me about their program…good and bad. But CLEARLY Memphis needed this game massively more that we did. Totally undeniable fact. I agree however moving forward we need to let Memphis go and not reschedule in the future. I’m looking, like Coach Barnes, what’s best for the Vols. Simply put and meaning no disrespect there’s NOTHING to gain for UT playing Memphis in any sport.

Awesome, maybe our seniors will get another Covid year of eligibility and then we can listen to Bilas and others talking about Fulky being the only NCAA player in history to play while having grandkids.

OK, somebody help me with the math on this one. 1 cent had a zoom press conference this afternoon. Said they would have had only four players that could play because unvaxxed players must be placed in contact protocol. So let’s say you have 13 players on the squad, two test positive and four could have played (and one would assume those are the vaccinated ones). My elementary math tells me that 7 to 9 players out of 13 on the that team are not vaccinated. (The two that tested positive technically could have been vaccinated.) 1 cent had previously been quoted that 90% of his team was vaccinated. So at best, he hasn’t really cared to pay attention and at worst he’s been caught in another lie. Either way, another reason why that entire team should have been tested right before they left Memphis and it’s yet another reason why we never schedule them. I don’t couch liars very well and I believe 1 Cent is flat out lying again. That team might as well be a walking Covid cell.

Penny apparently admitted that his 90% that he stated earlier in the year was wrong. He said he “probably misspoke.”

Memphis refused to play short handed.
Confirmed what everyone on our side suspected. They COULD HAVE played, but situation wasn’t ideal so they walked. Other programs would have played the game. To top it off there was poor to no communication with the UT side. One Cent keeps burning bridges

I don’t believe that. They needed to play that game in the worst way. No more chances in their season for a resume building win outside of two games with Houston. I believe they got caught with their pants down with more than half the team unvaccinated and it cost them.

Yeah well the one in Belle Meade ain’t impressed…plus not adjacent to miles and mile of slums. Like I said no one would miss that whole county

It’s always a dumb notion because there are many, many UT alums and fans in the county.

Belle Meade itself is 3 square miles. The one in Germantown has 16,000 people.

LOL. Yeah I’d say he did. Either that or that’s what he got from his math classes sat Shelby County Schools and Memphis State.

Harbor Town, Midtown, Chickasaw Gardens, Galloway Gardens, Germantown, Collierville, Bartlett, Arlington, Lakeland...I guess those are just miles and miles of 'slums' lol

Fine… Belle Meade, West Meade, Forrest Hills, Oak Hill, Brentwood, and Franklin all more impressive than Germantown. That help?
