And there's nothing weird about a stadium that struggles to fill its 50,000 seat capacity, but has a jumbotron you can see from space?
You know what also looks weird on TV? An SEC team visiting a Sun Belt opponent. Your program is pathetic, and an embarrassment to an otherwise proud conference.
It actually makes you question your association with them, doesn't it?
And this is the second time they've done it.
Again, it's a 2 for 1 with Troy. They come to Starkville in 2013 and 2015. It's our preferred scheduling method and will continue to be until the program becomes sustainable on a higher level, at which point we'll consider doing home/home series with BCS-level opponents. We won't pay for an 8th home game at this point, when we can get 2 for 1s for free.
So, get ready. We will be @ UAB next year, @ South Alabama in 2014, @ USM in 2015, and @ La Tech in 2016.
Our previous OOC scheduling was a nightmare. We played bigtime teams every year, and it kept us home a bunch of times in bowl season. What does our program have to show for that? NOTHING. Helped us in NO way. In the recent past, our OOC:
@Houston, Ga Tech, Houston, @ Ga Tech, @ West Virginia, West Virginia, Oregon, @ Oregon, BYU, @ BYU, OK St, @ OK St, @ Baylor, Texas, @ Texas
Au contraire, Pierre - Missy State has the biggest... errr second biggest ... or once upon a time the biggest jumbotron in the universe!
I can understand building a program may require a few trips to some midlevel C-USA schools, but no disrespect but really South Alabama? Thats a disgrace to MSU to make them play at a school thats only been D1 for 2 years at the time.
Dude, you're just scared to talk smack. We are currently a lot better than Tennessee which doesn't happen that much so we as State fans need to let them know who is boss while we can.
