You can say it's stupid all you want but you don't know how it is to play in the West. The SEC West is way better than the SEC East. 3 top 5 teams at one point last year. We would have dominated the East in 2010, and we did dominate the teams from the East we played that year, we would have gave Auburn a run for their money in the SEC Championship game. We shut down Cam Newton and almost beat them in the regular season, one dropped pass a way from the win. I'm not saying we would have for sure beat them though but we would have certainly won the East and played them. It's just a fact that Mississippi State is better than Tennessee.

If "Ifs and Buts" were candy and nuts we would all have a merry Christmas. Don't give me the "West is better" argument. MSU was a mediocre program even when the West was behind the East. I think we do know about it seeing that the East was vastly superior to the West in the 90's and early 00's. And guess what? We weren't in the basement of the East in its hayday. When was the last time MSU even beat UT in football? 1994? Talk to me when you have won multiple national titles...or a national title...or a SEC Championship game...Hell talk to me when you have won more than 1 Western division. PS Guess who beat the dogs in MSU's only appearance in Atlanta? I'll give you a hint, they are clad in Orange and White.

Davis-Wade Stadium
Starkville, MS
capacity: 55,082
Jumbotron: Biggest in the SEC, 2nd biggest in the world

With football season just around the corner I wanted to go ahead and get a prediction thread here on the NCAA forum that I will be able to bump after we beat y'all. And please don't get mad and upset when I bump it. I'm not going to rub it in or flame, I'm simply just going to type "bump."

prediction:
Mississippi State - 31
Tennessee - 10

He is the one that wanted to bring up the 90's. Anyways I'm talking about the present. Tennessee has a scrappy little team and y'all aren't terrible or anything but you're not on State's level currently and that's just kind of a fact. October 13th will prove it.

I actually like the expansion concept. It looks really good. MSU fans just need to hope Mullen doesn't leave for greener pastures any time soon or it'll all be a waste.

We'd be ok if Mullen left right now, IMO. We actually have competent people running the athletics dept now(I know you can identify with that problem) that we'd trust to make a good hire. Plus, we've got several coaches with ties to State having success elsewhere. Honestly, this is a MUCH more attractive job than the one Dan Mullen took in 2009 anyway. Mark Hudspeth at ULL is a State guy that "could" carry the torch when Mullen is gone.

He's actually a better recruiter than Mullen is, and he's building something NASTY in south Louisiana. He's got all the South Panola "misfit" talent down there, got them in class, and has kept them out of trouble. He's literally got young 5* athletes at skill positions in the Sun Belt.

His resume is unlikely to impress the Tennessee's of the world, but is pretty good for a MSU candidate. Plus, he'd actually stay here if successful IMO

You honestly think you are going to hold Tennessee's offense to 10 points???
Even funnier than that, the pound puppies averaged 13 points last year against their 3 Eastern opponents and BC expects MSU to score 31 against UT with an offense this year that will be not only bad, but significantly worse than last year's anemic version with only 5 returning starters. No returning starting RB, average WRs, 3rd least experienced OL in SEC, and a crappy QB yet again.

Billy, want to make a permanant ban bet over this game with me? MSU wins, I will never return to VN. UT wins, you never post on this site again.

Kind of a fact or is a fact?
