Tennessee QB Harrison Bailey enters NCAA transfer portal

Good to see that a major UT recruit has the sense to sense his situation and respond appropriately. Isn't this what great QBs do?

Is it enter the portal or when they transfer. I would imagine HB along with the other 3 in the portal would do us the decency of waiting until December 15th to leave
Not sure, but I hope it isn’t entering the portal. To my knowledge, the rule has not yet been formalized.

I’m quite certain he didn’t.

So you actually think during practice and everything he has shown he is better and better for this team than Hooker?

You “know” he didn’t get a “fair” shake…….and he should be out there instead of Hooker? You “know” Bailey must have proved he was the #1 guy but for some odd reason the coach……..the guy with actual experience evaluating these types of things……says “nah he’s the 3’rd stringer.”

So you really believe that Heupel knows Bailey is better……..but he don’t like his job so much so he going to make him 3rd string instead?

Cause if you “don’t” believe that…….and you do believe that Bailey practiced just like everyone else but he didn’t “prove” himself better or others “proved themselves better……….then Bailey definitely got a “fair shake.” He had the same opportunity as the other guys……….and wound up #3.

I wish the guy all the best. I hope he has a great career; however he could be the starter right now if he was “good enough” right now…….and he ain’t………that’s not a knock on him either……..he simply isn’t or Heupel would play him.

I think Kentucky might be his best landing spot. He has 4 years left. They have an excellent Oline, their offense is built on a running game with good running backs, and their current starting QB has one more year of eligibility. They are a good QB away from being a 10-2 or 9-3 team on a consistent basis. For the past several seasons they have had consistently good defenses, both lines, and a good running game.

I hope Bailey lands on a good team that's a fit for him. There is disappointment that it wasn't us. Wish him the best.

This makes Maurer's decision that much more stupid.

Maybe not. Maurer, much as I liked him, had mental health issues. It was probably to his betterment that he left before he shattered irretrievably.

Bailey, I hate seeing him leave and think it is a mistake. The captain is our man, but the SEC beats up QBs who lack a consistent OL. Hooker is at risk, the Milt man is highly questionable, the door was, however slightly, ajar for Bailey. 2022, he'd be #2, more likely to see the field as a result. But, I hope he balls out wherever he goes.

Never seen a player who never made a impact get so much attention. By reading this thread you’d think we are losing the second coming of Peyton

Pey was a pocket passer, Bailey got stuck with a clown for a QB coach from the start. Then, we got a better staff with a system that isn't a fit for a pocket passer. I believe with a decent OL, Bailey will be a high-quality QB. I look forward to his proving that is indeed the truth.

I don't see CJH bringing him against Vandy, the last game to burn the young mans red shirt.
If we had to we could run the wildcat or something with the WR that was a QB in HS or the UCF transfer
Honestly I think Milton could win us S. AL and Vandy as long as our RBs aren't hurt. Milton won't get you deep but he can hit the 15-20yrd passes good enough

May be wrong but I thought a player could play in up to 4 games and still red shirt? He has only played in 1 so far right?

Hooker: 22 TD 7 INTS 2,900 yards 12+ starts as a qb.. easy to see why a team would take him for experience alone. Milton was picked up because of his size and (perceived) potential, clearly didn't work out.

If HB was half as good as some of you believe he would've seen the field this year after Milton's tragic performance. He's not mobile, throws constant check downs, has average arm strength. He'll land at UAB/Memphis type school if that.

Lol. Ok chief. We'll see.

In defense of anyone but Milton, its pretty safe to say that Hooker or Bailey. starting the Pitt game would have led to a win. We literally were up 10-0 in a matter fo minutes vs them and then the overthrows started happening...... One of them liiterally a grandma could have thrown the ball so weak and would have been a walk in touchdown.

I never understood the Milton hype considering Harbaugh is a decent QB developer and Milton and never clicked.

Regardless, this offense doesn't suit Bailey.... The hype with Bailey was always in tandem with Big Jim being his OC because they were a match made in heaven. Just didn't expect captain jackass to stick with JG the whole time.

How did you make the evaluation that an undeveloped 5-star QB recruit with ridiculously impressive stats - sucks worse than Milton?
Some of yall are embarrassing with this crush you have on HB. I had high hopes for him but when TWO staffs wont play him...that should tell you something.

And his ridiculous HS stats are indicative of the amount of talent he had around him. Watch the championship game, his last game in hs. His stats were impressive due to his TE that was a true 5 star prospect

To be accurate though, he was a true freshman last year and because of COVID had limited offseason development. Last years staff wouldnt play him over their boy JG because they were the clown brigade. When he played he showed more than JG. Hard to judge him this year based on mop up duty vs Tenn Tech, him not playing this year is more indicative of they style of qb the staff wants more than his skill set as a passer. I have no doubt he will do well somewhere else (it is the UT way) and I hope he doesn’t transfer within the conference

Where's all the Bailey haters I seen post earlier in the year? I'm glad you're happy. If Milton plays I'm not watching that loser. He sucks. Hooker's doing great but he's gone after this year.

This is the most ridiculous thing I've read. I haven't seen one person hate HB this year, which is more than I can say for some "fans" talking about Hooker and Milton. I've only seen folks question his ability, which is far from hating on the kid.
