Tennessee QB Harrison Bailey enters NCAA transfer portal

I can see him slinging it all over the field for Leach.

He would likely be a good fit for Leach, but I don't think HB is going there. Will Rogers is the man there and just a sophomore. HB would just end up on the bench again. Plus, Leach has several big young QBs waiting in the wings who will have had the benefit of several years of Leach QB coaching when their time comes. Same situation at Memphis. I think HB either heads back to Georgia. Ga Tech is LOADED with QBs, so that may not be an option for him either. Therefore, I suspect HB will opt to play for a lower tier Ga school. Either that or a FCS team somewhere else. A place he would most likely become an immediate starter. A place that has a history of producing NFL drafted QBs. It might not be a bad idea for him to look closely at Boise State. It seems beyond their Jr. QB, everyone behind him is a frosh, thus inexperienced. He might be able to push the Jr. to 2nd string, and remain number one the rest of his tenure there. Whatever, I will peek his way wherever he goes and cheer his achievements.

There is no marginal white QB this fanbase won't stan for.

Reality check: The staff tried to give Bailey the job in the spring and he couldn't take it. Had every opportunity, he just isn't that good.

GTF outta here with that racist crap. If you are seeing racism, it is because its what you find in yourself.

We liked Bailey because we felt we knew him and all during the darkness of Pruitt time, we hoped that somehow Bailey would save us against JG. We had watched and celebrated his recruitment and knew that he loved our school.

Milton and Hooker were transplants, gunslingers thrust upon us by a new coach whom we also barely knew. Then Bailey is mostly the thing spoken of in the O&W. Who else do we root for? I barely knew who Hooker was, had no idea he was black and wouldn't have given a damn if I did. Brian Mauer was the more likely backup (since he was here previously) but I never really was enthused by him - oh wait, he was white, I missed my chance to support the other "white guy".

Milton clearly had the possible but just sucked so badly that of course we all wanted anybody but him. Hooker got in and was a bit shaky at first (no surprise) so naturally we want Bailey to get his chance - and hope above hope that somebody finally is the great QB we have been looking for. Just happens that somebody is Hendon Hooker, who after getting a bit of field experience, settled down and has been fantastic. Pretty much after his second or third showing, I havent missed Bailey in the slightest.

Reality - keep that racial excrement to yourself. There is only one color here and that is TN Orange (#FF8200) and any REAL FANS bleed that color only, no matter what their skin color is, what their heritage is or where they come from.

Shame on you for a totally false statement. You throw a blanket on all people and make a ignorant racist statement. I had hopes for Bailey but soon realized he wasn’t going to cut it. The great majority of fans just want the best quarterback they could care less. I love Hendon and he is clearly our best qb, and most people want the best qb. Whether you at bama or Tennessee or anywhere else. Your statement is wrong and misguided and I could care less how connected you are. My first memories are of Holloway at quarterback and to this day he is one of my favorites. Right along with Manning and Robinson and Casey Clausen and Tee Martin. All great memories that most Tennessee fans would say didn’t have a damn thing about race they loved them because they battled and won more than they lost. So take your garbage ugly insults at a large portion of the fan base and stick them where the sun doesn’t shine! GBO!!!! VFL to all Vols!!!

In total honesty, there are a lot of fans that fall into the category mentioned above. I brought it up several months ago and got skewered for stating what is an obvious truth for so many of our lesser educated fans. Sadly, it is what it is.

When Hooker went down. It was Harrison Bailey who walked out on the field and hung around, concerned about Hooker. I didn't see Milton there. He might have been, but Harrison was readily noticeable.

Ummm...no offense, but maybe Milton III was warming up his arm? Next man up and all...

A gazillion percent true. My email Vol chat group brought this up many times that tons of people were butthurt that CJH had the absolute sheer audacity to play the best QB on the roster, regardless of skin color. I mean...my...GAWD!!!

Shocked/not shocked.

There are a lot of fans that think that way. Fortunately, our fanbase consists of MANY LOTS of fans most of whom do not think that way, hence the love for guys like Hendon that is routinely expressed on this board. By being so careless with your statements, you and @DeerPark12 smear the entire fanbase (100s of thousands) with the bigoted label based on the statements of a few dozen that are posting here or another few that you might know personally.

Wish him well. I’m in the camp with others as far as calling someone a VFL. Either graduate from, injured and gave all you playing time to UT, make a significant contribution, disavow any connection or allegiance to other schools. Tootoo would have to be a gump for life. HB probably won’t consider himself a VFL if he winds up at Florida or Florida State.

Oh boy. You can complain about this in the politics forum where people can at least expect to see this stupid crap

Sadly, I had to listen to all the same crap when VY flamed out and the Titans couldn’t readily find a black QB. It ain’t nothing new.

I wish this was true.. that's not the world we live in, let's be real

Ain’t gonna lie, I was rooting hard for Milton. I don’t care if the kids black, white or green, if he’s 6’5”, 245 and built like a LB’er, I’m hoping he’s our next QB!
GBO!!

Except he DIDN'T play the best QB on the roster. He played the QB on the roster who he had his finger on the scales for the job. That is until Milton got hurt, Hooker took the field and turned things around and became the starter.

Everyone and I do mean everyone watching practice thought Milton was the best QB on the roster at the beginning of the season.

Because the guy with his finger on the scale was telling them he was. The cold hard truith is Milton could not live up to the hype Heupel pushed out to the media about him. I'm tickled and impressed Heupel let 2Hs flourish and his pet QB fall by the wayside once it became evident on the field who was actually the better of the two.

People were at practice. They could see with their own eyes.
Milton was the best guy in practice. It didn’t translate to the game. It’s absolutely moronic to suggest otherwise. I’m too lazy to look but as I recall nobody watching practice and reporting on it thought Hooker was the man.

I totally agree with you, love Hueple as our coach for the future but I do believe that. I posted this early around 1st game. I posted something like I believe Hueple see another possible Cam Newton-type QB that can take this team to 7 or 8 wins his first year and he's going to roll with him, because he will be back for a couple of years, and if he fails he is still in a Honeymoon situation. I'll never know but I'm not sure he would have changed his vision if Milton had not gotten hurt. JMO
