Yeah I heard that last year too, and the year they won the national championship.
I haven't criticized anyone for touting kenpom. If you've listened to anything I've ever said on this board, I love kenpom.
Where are you reading all this?
.Congratulations on being ranked high in the kenpom "polls". I'm sure you'll hang the banner right next to your regular season wins over Florida.
Since Donovan has been (16 years?) I think there have only been two years we've failed to beat them at least once.
This year is a bit different. They're talent rich at every position and with Walker eligible, I don't really see where their weakness lies.
UT could've matched up well with them in the frontcourt pre-Walker. Now? That's a tough out with Young, Walker, Finney-Smith and Yeugete (who I think is back).
Prather on the wing who is playing every bit as well as McRae right now.
And then Wilbekin and Frazier up top?
They're just stacked, AND experienced.
That was making fun of the poster who were crowing over a prediction metric like they'd won the Super Bowl, not the metric itself.
No one gets a trophy for winning Kenpom, it's just used to predict outcomes.
I get your point. Which is strange you would then cite the bracket matrix. Likewise you don't get a trophy for that

Alright, since you're trying to play a shell game.
Memphis
RPI: 29
SOS:28
Record: 10-3
vs top 50: 1-3
vs. top 50-100: 1-0
vs. top 100+: 8-0
Best win: Oklahoma State (RPI 15)
Worst loss: Cincinnati (RPI 19)
Tennessee
RPI: 46
SOS: 22
Record: 9-4
vs top 50: 2-2
vs top 50-100: 2-1
vs top 100+: 5-1
Best win: Xavier (RPI 27)
Worst loss: MF'n UTEP (RPI 140)
Let's highlight a few things using your numbers.
-SOS...
UT-22, UM-28...It would appear that our schedule is stronger thus far that UM's...again, according to your info.
-Vs. Top 50
UT is 2-2, UM is 1-3...We seem to have fared better against the Top 50, using your info.
-Vs. Top 50-100
UT is 2-1, UM is 1-0...Not much information to work with on the UM side, but UT has dropped a game (I assume this to be the NCSU gm), a game we should have won at home
-Vs. 100+ teams
UT is 5-1, UM is 8-0...We have a bad loss, and UM has beaten every cupcake they have played.
How is that not comparable? You act like there is a Amazon-wide gap between the two resumes. I won't argue that one is exponentially better than the other, but they are pretty dang similar, even using your info.
YOU LOST TO UTEP. HELLO MCFLY!!! Your quality win is also Xavier. Ours is Oklahoma State.
Right now these are the resumes of a 6 seed and a bubble team. They are not comparable
It's not about 1 win and 1 loss. It's about all of them.
But, I said this yesterday, this is stupid to argue. No one is changing your mind. Memphis' lone win against OSU does not make their resume better. Congrats that they are 8-0 outside the Top 100. Austin Peay, Jackson State, Arkansas-Little Rock, Nicholls State, and SE Missouri State are ecstatic that you think they are good. Ridiculous.
At this point it is, when we've only both played about 4 or 5 decent teams.
You are in the very very very vast minority in your belief, I'll tell you that.
