Tennessee Slowly Becoming The New Clemson

Not yet, but Clemson has benefited from Tennessee’s missteps over the last 10 plus years.
In 2008 Fulmer and Bowden both left their programs.
Clemson hired interim coach Dabo Swinney while Tennessee is on their 5th coach.
Back in 2008 no one considered Clemson to be on the level of Tennessee.
Our misfortunes helped build their dynasty.
A lot of Tennessee’s best recruits went on to play for the orange and purple instead of The Big Orange.
It’s time to right the ship.
CJH has the Vols heading in the right direction while Clemson is unranked for the first time since 2014.

Huge win tonight. We took a big step back towards taking back what's ours. Clemson has profited greatly from us being down and we put them in their place.

Kinda slightly ironic. The last time we played Clemson in 2004 they beat us 27-14 and in a lot of people's minds , it felt like that was a turning point for us. As in the turning down point. So here we are returning the favor as our trajectories cross paths again ; this time with us being the one heading back up. See ya tiggers , wouldn't wanna be ya.

This post is nauseating. Clemson is a bull crap ACC team that won a coupla’ NCs through being totally healthy as a result of playing a crap ass schedule all year. They are a Johnny come lately crap team. I would hate to think we are becoming them. One of their NCs they had no business even winning.
Sound like I hate ‘em? Good, cuz I sure do. I live among them and they are awful. They are the worst drivers on earth, and they get really pissy when you talk about Death Valley being in Baton Rouge, and that they have zero history - other than Danny Ford cheating like the low down bammer he is.
Their whole stadium and gameday REEKS of nouveau riche, tacky, “look at us - we are a big boy too!!” — When you can just look in their eyes —and they know they ain’t nuthin’ but a little brother to freakin’ Auburn.
So, I’d hope to high heaven that we are turning back into Tennessee, an historic CFB blue blood of the highest order—- and not Auburn with a polluted nasty redneck infested lake.

Clemson benefitted all these years by not having to work it's way thru an SEC schedule. They don't play a very tough schedule, and go into the play offs with a fresh/ rested team.

I'm probably more optimistic than most Vol fans but let's pump the brakes just a tad. We had good seasons under each of the previous staffs and we thought out trajectory was on a permanent upwards trend but despite high ranking recruiting classes success could not be sustained. I WILL say that there appears to be a much different energy with this staff that makes sustained success more likely. The players that stayed and bought in are laying a foundation for future classes and success on the field will lead back to highly rated recruiting classes. Can you imagine this offense with a few top 10 classes?

I have absolutely no desire for the Tennessee team to be Clemson! My desire is for Tennessee to be Tennessee and to once again be considered among one of the best football teams year in and year out.
