Tennessee Slowly Becoming The New Clemson

Not yet, but Clemson has benefited from Tennessee’s missteps over the last 10 plus years.
In 2008 Fulmer and Bowden both left their programs.
Clemson hired interim coach Dabo Swinney while Tennessee is on their 5th coach.
Back in 2008 no one considered Clemson to be on the level of Tennessee.
Our misfortunes helped build their dynasty.
A lot of Tennessee’s best recruits went on to play for the orange and purple instead of The Big Orange.
It’s time to right the ship.
CJH has the Vols heading in the right direction while Clemson is unranked for the first time since 2014.

See, we're here to be fans. Which means fanatics. Fanatics in support of our team. Fanatical devotion to our team.

So bringing up unrealistically POSITIVE things is actually expected. It is "part of the job" of fandom. It is what we expect and enjoy out of each other. It is why so many of us love Nationdom even while we chuckle and shake our heads at some of his over-the-top predictions.

It is being a fan.

So "false positives" are not the mirror image of being falsely negative. One is in the definition of fan-atic. The other is a perversion of it. It is what trolls do. Not fans.

Yes. For one, Clemson is 17th on composite.

Secondly, we aren't far above them and they have only 13 recruits. They'll finish a not higher by February.

I like to think that TN is becoming the old TN and Clemson is becoming the old Clemson. Things are just normalizing again. Clemson’s position was never theirs to take for the long haul. They have been living on borrowed time.

No Tennessee is not becoming “the new Clemson” we will just return to the real Tennessee and Clemson will return to the real Clemson!

What’s really ironic is that Tommy Bowden resigned from Clemson 3-4 weeks before Fulmer was forced out, and Clemson was the likeliest destination for Lane Kiffin, and the job he was most interested in. When we came open, he no longer had any interest in them because we were the real “A List” opening that year (that quote was from ESPN radio at the time).

Funny how that turned out. Had Hammy waited til the end of the season to push Fulmer out, we wouldn’t have lost to Wyoming and would’ve ended 6-6 with a bowl game. Kiffin would’ve taken the Clemson job. It was time to make a change, no doubt, but Fulmer had commmitments from Tajh Boyd and Bryce Petty. Kiffin told Boyd that he wouldn’t fit his system and so he went to Clemson where as a starter, he went 32-5 over 3 seasons.

So yeah... We basically jumped in front of the bullet and saved Clemson from never recovering from mediocrity.
