Portal closes Monday at midnight to just enter. Coaches are holding announcements till after that so they don’t lose additional players because of the new players being picked up which I feel is pretty pathetic for a coach to do that.

Stanford’s quarter ended a couple days ago so I guess if it’s true then it makes sense. However, I will say I am all for players and NIL (I am not too familiar with all the specifics regarding it) but I think offering a player a quarter of a million dollars to transfer to your schools seems like a bit much no?

I’m against talking to kids while they are at another school and in season. Hit the portal, fair game. I’m also for player capitalism if they seek it out.

If Fiedler does end up committing to Tenn the infield competition should be at an all time high. A LOT of depth for sure and hopefully the 4 out there are the most sure handed defenders, but also the most offensive productive ones

Which makes this whole situation weird because if she commits quickly to OU a lot of people will question, at least the ones who knew about this NIL deal wonder if any tampering went on

Faw is the starting SS to start the fall. Karen already made that clear. Strange we are going after position players and not going all in for pitchers

Believe Faw will be at 2B to start and slide to SS her JR year. Destiny is the odd one out and agree on the position player aspect of portal unless it was get what we can get now.

I’m not against Faw starting, she has a strong arm and has shown the ability to hold it down even though she made a lot of errors prior to the injury, I just think there’s no way she starts unless she picks up the offensive numbers. Doesn’t need to put up Kiki type numbers but something productive. This portal class wasn’t really exciting outside of Meylan & Crandall so I could see why but with 2 talented freshman coming in they could definitely see a lot of time. Also a 4 person staff could work if they use them sparingly and not overwork Pickens early on in the year

It’ll have to take a national player of this magnitude to take on the issue. It happens, but unlike Bahl going back home after leaving the machine. You have the best pitcher leaving the last day to go to the machine for a reported amount.

A part of me still thinks Destiny might go to Auburn just with her connection to Chris. Probably won’t happen, but with 2 infielders coming in with Mealer, Faw, & Destiny in this mix the MI should be interesting

Believe much of Faw’s issues offensively was the Malvauex teachings and taking it to the field.

I could see that and wouldn’t be shocked if it did happen…just seemed the final few weeks the writing was on the wall.
