Tennessee Softball 2025

I was going to say, maybe this time they need to send Trachsel with them.
I’m surprised they are keeping her this year, buyout number was friendly. With all the players leaving and the new stadium opening next year, would’ve thought they would have gone for a fresh start.

I guess the one downside to going to that place where competing for national championships every year, on their home turf, is pretty much a given, is that all those players have to live in Oklahoma to do it. Okla-freakin'-homa. 😳

Have any of you ever spent much time in Oklahoma? 😳

At least our kids get to live in beautiful East Tennessee. They may take too many third strikes, hold their bats wrong and bomb out prematurely during nearly every post-season, but by gawd, they get to come home to Tennessee.

😜 lol

Beverly Smith out at USC
One downside of NIL is that if your donors commit a bunch of money to pick up a transfer they are sold on being able to get you to the WCWS, your leash is a lot shorter when you don’t make it out of regionals. Surprised at the timing, if they were going to do it I would have thought they would have done it the week after regionals.

Wonder what happened with Vawter. The Vawter at Stanford is not what I saw watching SC this year
Outside of injury recovery, which isn’t the case. Seems when a pitcher regresses, it is a change in style, philosophy or both. Some could be attributed to change from PAC 12 to SEC.

Vawter and Bennett didn’t pan out. Bennett is already in the portal and was Denver Bryant a cancer from the portal like she was at Auburn. Bad year for Smith following last years run that saved her job.

I didn't realize UT/Arizona has the most viewed softball game on record. Still remember watching that game and couldn't believe UT choked that game away. Oklahoma/Texas came close with almost 2.1 million viewers. Impressive ratings!!

Homerun hire in Snider, his numbers at FSU and TX AM are much needed. Players we know that played from him at and TX Tech and TX AM loved him as a coach. Seems Karen also got a 2:1 in hitting and keeping the Texas connection to recruiting.

It’s tough to do but got to give Karen huge kudos for going all in and hitting a grand slam. Craig is a proven hitting coach for years and not a one year wonder like the last hire. Team hitting will improve guaranteed.

I think Snider was on staff at FSU when they had their run at the world series a couple years ago

He was. Unexpected get, I can only assume it was a nice pay increase from him to leave a HC spot so quickly.
I am assuming that is the case as well. I wasn’t sure what the situation was at Tech and although they made improvements it was going to be awhile before they were competitive in the big 12

"Craig is widely known as one of the best hitting coaches and offensive minds in the game of softball. His track record for developing versatile and dynamic offenses speaks for itself.” I love this quote. Hopefully it means we have more games where we win in different ways other than the long ball
