Tennessee to pursue Antonio Barton

I don't get it.

I think he's referring to the 'out' you gave yourself by saying "may".

It would be just as correct to say that Barton may not make a decision soon.
He may commit to Maryland this afternoon.
He may schedule a visit to UT.

He's a lawyer, he always leaves himself an out, it's typical MC.

He may. All of those are correct.

BTO, better than anyone, knows what a bad idea it is to talk in absolutes re; recruiting.

Maryland is going nowhere athletically. Terrible in football and they will have to fight to finish 4th in the Big 10 now, which is pretty much the situation they were in ACC. Bad fit for a big 10 school, too, IMO.

Don't know which stop was this week, but I know that he was asked about it last week in Memphis. He could not talk specifics. Then someone asked about a PG who was transferring with one year left, and he said that they were reviewing all of their options.

Yeah that tweet is a week old.

I'm beginning to think Maryland for Barton. Regardless he has to graduate first and that will be in June so we'll see what happens with him.

Except he has stated fit and playing time will play a bigger role

Are we sure Maryland doesn't offer that? I really don't know and honestly asking. I read an article that they lost a guard, Howard. I thought Dez Wells was a forward. They are supposed to be an up and coming team although they lost their center early to the NBA. Another concern is his friendship with Faust.

Wells and Faust are both guards (albeit not prototypical PGs), both played there some. Ideally I guess you'd have Faust at the 2 and wells the 3. They do however have a top 50 recruit coming in named roddy peters who is a PG that is/was expected to compete from the start. So at a minimum, Barton would be competing with a top 50 recruit and PG of the future for Maryland.

At Tennessee Barton would be competing with ___? Barton may not end up here, but it won't be because of lack of PT. I don't think there's any doubt UT offer's the best chance of being a starting PG and getting 30mpg. I would imagine quality of team will play a part, I think Tennessee is much better suited for success than Maryland.
