Yeah so breaking the roster down into 3 sections...it's pretty obvious who is likely to leave.

Area 1: PG/SG
ZZ
Santi
Freddie
Carr
Gainey
BJ Edwards

Area 2: SF (can play 2-4 the Pons/JJJ types)
Mashack
DJ Jefferson
Ledlum
Knecht

Area 3: Bigs
Aidoo
Awaka
Estrella
Cade

So losing JJJ & Phillips you'd honestly rather add Knecht than another PG/SG (like BJ). Good balance to the roster though if you make that exchange.

It seems like just last week that Tennessee was a massive disappointment in the portal, according to him . Life comes at you fast. And he was the one who told me to be ready to edit my post last Friday on the Phillips to Auburn thread when I mocked the Auburn “big news” , then he claimed it was coming Monday. I’m still waiting.

Yup, he’s been overly dramatic even when many have tried to tell him to catch his breath and see how things play out.

It’s hard for me to believe that they would part ways with one of either two 4 star prospects they liked just a year ago when there are so many workarounds with Gainey being a coach’s son, NIL, PWO classification, etc. Just doesn’t add up.

Because of all the unsettled pieces. 3 of the 4 seniors that could return don’t have official plans. JP hasn’t publicly revealed his final decision. BJ and DJ could transfer. EVERY change is qualified. Even Ludlum is the 14th scholarship until something changes.

Maybe DW worked a deal with NCAA in Cincy for us to have 14 basketball scholarships in trade for us not lowering the boom on them on the football issues.

UT hasn’t made official announcements on JP or somebody leaving. But they’re sitting at 14 scholarship players. Uros, JJJ, and ON don’t have firm plans that have been officially announced.

That is why it isn’t simple to understand. Internet know-it-alls aren’t the best sources of information.
