With our massive offensive stagnation issues, we need anyone who' has proven they can penetrate/shoot the three/make free throws/distribute/handle the ball vs pressure. Right now, ZZ fills 4 of those 5, if, and pretty big if, he's healthy all season. That's not easy when he's coming off an injury and had games this year where he's playing almost every minute. Everyone else on the roster are either complete unknowns or do 2/5 of those things, 3/5 if they happen to be having a good night.

Yeah, I agree. It could be a PG or a Wing really. We just need the guy on a team full of solid to great role players. It would make a world of difference. Suddenly, Santi is back to being a 2nd or 3rd option. ZZ can be the pest on defense. Phillips could be a 2 or 3 option. It would raise our ceiling a ton.

If JJJ & Santi leave then we have room for 2…this is simple, as we currently sit with Key, Nkahmoua & Uros (he’s gone) leaving we are full. Anyone we take in the portal has to replace someone, Santi, JJJ, Phillips are all candidates.

Is it fair to say that Phillips projects highly as a pro, but he may not be a dominant college basketball player? I’m indifferent on him. I think he has immense talent defensively, but offensively I think he’s too soft driving the ball and he needs to add a lot of strength. I also think he’s not a consistent enough shooter. So say Phillips and JJJ leave and we get Knecht and Ledlum. I think it’s fair to say that we found solid replacements. I would love having Phillips back though, but I wouldn’t be mad if he went pro. I’d be a little irritated if he transferred to Auburn lol

According to the experts he is an Oregon lean, and in my opinion it’ll all depend on if he prefers being closer to home or not. If he doesn’t and all things are equal I think we win out. I just think we have more to offer than Oregon does.

Would be interesting to see if Bronny commits before him, if he does indeed go to Oregon, and if that is a factor in his decision
