I know Muss's high volatility formula feels exciting, but I still prefer our way.
I'm not a numbers crunchier but if Vescovi and Julian comes back and Josiah shocks people and comes back do we even have a scholarship for a transfer if nobody leaves? Just wonderingJefferson, Carr, Dillione, and Estrella are all players that we would have hung our dreams on a few years ago. I think Dillione and Estrella will contribute meaningfully by January. I think Jefferson might too. A core of Aidoo, ZZ, Phillips and Santi is something we would also be excited about. Somehow that combination isn't enough? We seem to forget Awaka, but he sure showed promise and fire. I don't understand Edwards and his hesitancy, but there is obviously something there. We have a great basis for a top 15 team. It'll take time to find a rhythm, but we'll play good defense, and we'll have more pure shooting. We'll break and drive a lot more. If Phillips returns and is healthy, I believe he can be an entirely different player than this year. With this lineup, he'll also have more room to move. I'd love to land Perry. He is a big time scorer and would change the ceiling. I also think Ludlum is a work horse who can get buckets, rebound and make space. I'm just not going to write off the team even if we only sign Gainey, or sign no one. I like the athleticism and scoring hunger of this team. I think we'll be more fun to watch than any team here in a long time. We'll continue to torture teams with our defense, but will have guns to do something on the other end too. I don’t know that this is the case, but play along for a minute as if it is…
Santi is returning (other seniors gone) and they feel Phillips is returning as well, no current roster players plan to transfer out, that would leave you with 1 available scholarship to give to a transfer. If the thought on staff between coaches and training staff is that Zeigler will be full go come October 1, and that Dilione has looked more than capable at PG, what are you using that 1 spot on? Still a PG? Or are you looking for some wing scoring in Knecht or low post scoring versatility in Ledlum?
I think/hope that Dilione, Carr, a year older Mashack can all help in that area…but I get the concern.Me? I want a quick PG or CG with better size than ZZ that can handle the ball and score.
We've seen lots of slower unathletic wing scoring and undersized low post scoring get absolutely demolished in league play. I feel like last year's team lacked perimeter speed, especially when ZZ went down.
This is where I've been this whole time. I'd rather just ride with who we have and let them figure out than scramble together a bunch of mid major transfers who aren't nearly as talented. We may struggle in November/ December due to our lack of experience at some positions, but it'll pay dividends by March and for the following season.Jefferson, Carr, Dillione, and Estrella are all players that we would have hung our dreams on a few years ago. I agree I'm super excited for our team next year especially if Santi returns. To the bolded part you'd have 3 true bigs Aidoo, Awaka, and Estrella (assuming Cade Phillips redshirts.)I may be in the minority but I am just fine with rolling with our roster with Santiago as the only senior returning and Julian Phillips returning as well. Will be a young, athletic, and exciting team with two veteran guards leading the way in ZZ, and Santiago. You’ll only have two true bigs in Aidoo/Awaka. The rest will stretch the floor and force teams to guard the 3 ball. They will have depth, and we know they will be a lockdown defensive team. Add in a Ledlum/ Knecht and you got a really good roster. A mix of youth/veterans and players who bought into the program and know what is expected of them.
I think I'd still take the PG if I knew it was someone with Tylor Perry's ability. Perry provides ball-handling and an additional outside shooting threat.I don’t know that this is the case, but play along for a minute as if it is…
