Demary was favoring Vols and liked them, Tennessee liked him, Dilione was ready to commit and did and that threw Demary off a bit as he thought he was going to be the lone guard taken…but he dragged his feet and to the staffs credit Dilione was ready to do something and got it done. I don’t think personally there’s a beef between them, I think it was just how it shook out and Demary was taken back by it and set some folks off a bit. As @Stoerner Fumbles said and credit at the time, the staff continued to talk and be in touch with him through his recruitment and while it was unlikely he was going to end up here they kept a good relationship.Well, that seems to perhaps put to rest my (mis)remembering of there being talk that Dilione and Demary wouldn't attend the same school. Good to hear because I liked Demary a lot when we were recruiting him.
That was it...I knew there was something involving the two of them. Demary film speaks for itself. He can be a menace on the defensive end and can drive the basketball. Not wrong on the moving parts. Hopefully it all works out for the good.Just too many moving parts to judge how it shakes out, but DeMary is a really interesting guard with a good existing relationship with staff.

Not sure if mentioned last go around, but he and Aidoo played AAU together. Maybe they’re close enough to be the deciding factor?Obviously I fear him going all the way home to NC State, but I think we have the strongest line to him as far as time invested. I assume he’ll have a hot round new speed daters, but I really wanted him before. I hope he comes.
Yes. They are close. He was a strong lean to us, but wires got crossed with activity as BTO mentioned. Credit Clark and Gainey for playing the hand through even when it got weird. Not sure if mentioned last go around, but he and Aidoo played AAU together. Gainey still has 2 more years and will improve. Jordan Bowden 2.0, and that’s the perfect role player this team needs. Gainey also has more athleticism than key.I’m scared man. You’re gonna have to take it up with Key.
Seriously though, do we have two walk on spots? Lol
Be nice to get all 4. Not lose anyone
Couldn’t tell you, but idk why a 20ppg scorer like Ques would either.
Idk Gainey, a 16ppg scorer would as well
Give him NIL and see, again Idk
Throw Gainey in there walking on as well. Gotta think that’s a successful offseasonIn:
Demary
Santi
Knecht/Ledlum
Out:
JJJ
Phillips
Edwards
I 100% want Phillips to stay and would be devastated if he left, but if this is how it shakes out since signs are pointing to Phillips leaving no matter what, I think you could consider this a pretty successful offseason even if the PG question would still be up in the air.
