You must have missed that outback bowl against Nebraska. Wait are you telling me you don’t know anything about football or basketball? In his time at Tennessee Butch made the post season more frequently than Barnes. He also had more top 25 finishes. You guys make this to easy for me by apparently having complete amnesia.
Pember is interesting because he was a guard that hit a big growth spurt. I see him being a stretch 4.Forward and "bigs" I don't know if I'd say I'm less worried, but seems Barnes' style of ball we can survive alright without a big time big.
Walker enters his 3rd season (Admiral, Bone, Kyle all had break out years in their 3rd season)
Fulkerson has given us good minutes and enters his 3rd season
Burns is the 2nd highest graded/ranked recruit Barnes has (James is now #1) and he had the benefit of sitting an entire season (and being healthy) to learn the system and improve condition
Wildcards: Pember (incoming freshman, arguably the best offensive big on the team from his first day on campus) & Kent (size wise he's the best potential replacement for Kyle...this will be his 3rd season he's had injury issues and got a redshirt so we'll see if he is 100% and able to give any sort of production)
My question is if he needs way more beef to keep from getting pushed out to the head of the circle
Hes not a project at all from a skills perspective and could likely provide something from day 1. However, look at the guy. Look at his arms. Literally not an ounce of muscle (or fat, even) on him. The guy makes an 18-year old Dirk Nowitzki look like Brian Williams. He is currently 6-11 and 190 pounds. That is actually kind of scary thin. Can you imagine him trying to back down Naz Reid, Daniel Gafford, or Nick Richard's? He would be relegated to getting most of his action outside the paint simply due to not being able to get to the paint. Those guys would fold him up quick.I don’t think so. I mean he could probably use a little bit of weight, but he wouldn’t be a project. He’s a kid who I think could contribute day one.
He’s a four star too, fyi.
Claxton is listed at 6-11, 220.Clayton from GA was 6 10, 190lbs, and is still kind of lean for his size; however that hasn’t stopped him from being a force down low.
I know the two are very different, and Clayton can certainly move with the ball......but size wise the lack of weight has not affected him.
Claxton is listed at 6-11, 220.
