Lol that backwood ignance. Wooheee strum the banjo along side this comment. The outback bowl is a New Years bowl with like the seventh highest pay out. 68 teams make the tournament. Hilariously Barnes took seven million plus to not even get us to the CBI his first two years. Are we getting a refund on that-is it going to be applied against the raise?

I don’t think he’s technically right since his point was you can’t succeed with Tennessee’s model, we have more Top 100 guys that TTU does who was just in the championship game, so obviously his overall point is wrong.

Basketball is different than football in the that you can win without five star recruits. As long as every other recruit is a four star. The article is also full of errors in that it omits two of tech’s top 100 players because the writer forgot about transfers and apparently freshmen.

IMO the model TT just used is very unlikely to work again. They just hit the lottery with 2 grad transfers and that doesn't happen very often regarding team chemistry and production.

Virginia isn’t loaded top to bottom with 4&5 stars either though, and obviously neither was Tennessee. There is more than 1 way to skin a cat, roster continuity and chemistry is right up there with star rankings as far as importance imo. In the last 10 years how many times has the team with the highest ranked roster actually won the championship?

Butch’s teams finished 22nd twice. (5 years total)
Barnes’s teams have finished 16th, and 10th. (4 years total)
