70% because we're expecting to lose Bone and next season is Turner & Bowden's last season and James may be a 1 & done...so pulling in a 4 star PG who will likely be here longer than one season would be a great move
30% because VA Tech just lost the staff that recruited him, and now is the best time to try and pull him coming off such a successful season

Not all 5 Stars are one and down so way too early to surmise what category James falls in.

No I get you. The vast majority of their roster weren't highly-rated guys. It's akin to if DJ Burns played a bench role for us this past season and played like 20 minutes a game or something. Or James since he's more closely rated to Francis. But treali94 is technically right, though Francis didn't play a ton and certainly didn't produce as much as you expect a borderline five-star to do.

This sentence is in the article as a heads up that the writer was under a deadline and didn’t even believe his own premise. Wait you mean the first tony Bennett team to live up to the hype was anchored by his best ever recruiting class? Basketball is different than football in the that you can win without five star recruits. As long as every other recruit is a four star. The article is also full of errors in that it omits two of tech’s top 100 players because the writer forgot about transfers and apparently freshmen.

The biggest difference in Barnes and Butch is that Barnes' teams have actually played in championship games(conf) and post season(75% of the time over his career) and Butch never sniffed it while at TN.

Now you're comparing the Outback Bowl to conference championship games and making the Tournament. The Outback Bowl would be equivalent to the NIT or CBI in basketball. Get real.
